chapter 7

more than one hour passed and taehyung still couldn't fall asleep. so he decides to get up just to see if the others are still awake.

he already regrets his choice when he stands up because what is he supposed to say when the others are still there?

but he sees jeongguk who is sitting on the couch, doing something with his phone and smoking a cigarette.

damn. he is so good looking.

"taehyung. what's wrong?" "i-i can't sleep.", he says. when did he start to stutter while talking?

"come.", jeongguk says and points at the spot right next to him.

taehyung sits down there and just stares at jeongguk.

"how do you feel?", jeongguk asks him. "i'm okay i guess. what about you?" "me too."

after a few seconds of silence taehyung talks again. "i kinda like it here.", he says since jeongguk's apartment really is comfortable and completely different than taehyungs house which feels so empty and cold. jeongguk scoffs.

"you're stupid."

"hey, that's mean.", he says and jeongguk doesn't want to admit to himself how unbelievably cute taehyung is.

"i'm sorry." "s'okay. tell me something about you." "what do you want to know?"

taehyung thinks for a moment. "why are you living here and where are your parents?"

"i left them." "why?" "my dad was a disgusting alcoholic and my mom was a bitch."

"o-oh, i'm sorry to hear that. did your dad hurt you?" "he did." taehyung feels so sorry for jeongguk. he feels like jeongguk had a very bad past and he has the weird will to make jeongguk feel happy.

"now tell me something about you."

taehyung is thinking.

"what do you want to hear?" "doesn't matter." taehyung nods.

"like you already know we have just moved here. and in the old city, i didn't really have friends since my best friends betrayed me and then i was kinda done with people.", he laughs and jeongguk smiles for some reason.

"but 3 months ago i found a friend, i like him a lot." jeongguk nods. "what's his name?" "jimin."

"jeongguk. you don't go to school, right?" he nods. "what are you doing then? i mean how do you earn money?"

jeongguk sighs. "i used to sell drugs." taehyungs eyes grow wide. he has watched enough drug documentaries to know that this shit it dangerous.

"i've selled so much that i have enough money now for the rest of my life, so i stopped. but the people in the ghetto further back are looking for me.

some of them would just like to talk to me and some of them would like to kill me immediately."

"they would kill you just because you don't sell drugs anymore?"

taehyung sighs. "take care of yourself. i'm glad that you don't sell drugs anymore, but.. um, do you use them?", he asks.

"no. never did." taehyung smiles at that. "you're too cute for this bad world.", jeongguk says and taehyung can't help but to blush again.

jeongguk didn't want to be that close to him because he doesn't want to fall for him. he just wanted him to leave and to not come back ever again so he doesn't get hurt.

"i should go to sleep."

"good night jeongguk.", he says after a few seconds. "good night taehyung."

taehyung wakes up crying in the middle of the night, just had a really bad nightmare because of his dad.

jeongguk, who was still awake, hearf taehyung's cries and quickly enters his room.

"hey. you okay?", jeongguk asks and sits down on the bed.

"y-yes, i-i just had a n-nightmare.", he sniffs, still crying. 

"don't cry.", jeongguk says and reached his hand out to wipe taehyung's tear away. he has no fucking idea what he's doing or why he's doing that but he did it automatically.

"does it help you when i sleep next to you?", jeongguk asks, not wanting to leave him alone now. taehyung shrugs and jeongguk just crawls under the blanket, but still keeps his distance.

"good night taehyung."

"good night jeongguk."

taehyung immediately falls asleep and he doesn't even notice how he suddenly clings to jeongguk, hugging him in his sleep.

jeongguk is still awake though and he has to smile. he looks at the cute boy next to him, seriously wondering if he's an angel that god has sent as a present. maybe he should keep him and not pushing him away.

after that jeongguk also finally falls asleep.
