nah i ain't
never knew a love like you
like honey dew melons
so light and sweet,
you remind
me of summertime,
an inescapable heat
the pool of sweat beneath the neck
baked crevices of darkened skin.
hot nights and sex
the gust of a heavy windwho knew love could be
so light and free
with less lows,
a heaven's highplease,
stay with me.
please
say to me
that my love
turned you goodmade you talk with
a tongue of regality,you tasted
exactly
what it meant
to live and want to be.i made you see
that your "self medication"was deadly
that you were shoveling a grave for yourself to return to when no one else was with you besides the mirror and truth.
i made you face that mirror,
broken and damaged
you could only see
in fragmentsi fixed your hands
to find them,
bind those pieces,
sew them into one
againi knew
it's what you had to dosome call it love,
but i live you.
