Lisa's POV

Finally, it was the time when the doors open, and there I saw the most beautiful woman in my whole life.

I admired her flawless beauty as she walked down the red carpet, moving towards me.

With her elegant white dress complimenting her body, I just couldn't help but stare.

I felt my world stop. Cringy as it sounds, it was true. Everything went slow and the only thing I could ever see was her.

Then, she looked up, and our eyes met with one another. Damn. I felt tingles inside me.

She smiled at me yet her eyes showed pain. That hit me inside. I smiled back but I felt something in my throat. A deep feeling. Like any moment, I can break down.

But that didn't stop me from staring at her as she stared back.

..................

It was night time. We decided to runaway.

But unfortunately, not all plans are meant to succeed.

I saw her running towards me with tears rushing on her face.

"Shhh..shhhh.." I immediately pulled her into a hug as soon as our distance were close.

Little did I know, my tears started flowing.

I understood everything.

It's impossible. We're impossible.

"W-why can't we just run..." I tried saying anything I could think of.

"You know, we can't..."

I heard her and I knew it was true.

I felt helpless. I felt the weakest. Not being able to fight for the love of my life. And not because I was afraid. But because the world just doesn't allow us to be together. Her parents. Her career. Her world.

Everything was just against me.

As soon as we parted our hug, she cupped my cheeks and smiled at me as if she was telling me everything's gonna be okay.

But I know it wasn't gonna be like that.

And with that, I leaned towards her, softly crashing our lips together.

Sharing a kiss together, it was passionate, lustful, sweet yet bitter. A kiss full of emotions. Because we both knew, it was our last.

Panting from tears and our kiss, our lips separated with one another.

"Lis, I love you..." she cupped my wet cheeks, saying those words between her breaths.

I smiled but I wasn't happy.

"I l-love you more..." my voice weakened as I responded.

And as she let go of our hug, I knew that I also had to let go.

.................

Little did I know, the girl of my dreams was already near me.

3 years flew by and I didn't expect to see her again, in front of me.

And there, our stare broke as her attention shifted to the guy beside me, the groom.

I forgot. I was just the best man.

I forgot. I wasn't the one for her.

I smiled bitterly yet happily if that was even possible as I continue to stare at her.

But with her gaze to someone else, flashing a smile.

And that made me smile.

I'm happy that you're happy.
