Drew's P.O.V.

I heard a couple of noises outside. I jumped out of bed, gazing through my window. The Bellsprout Tower got damaged pretty hard. And wait, who's that near that tree? Is that.......?

I strained my eyes. "If that's who I think it is, I will slap her really hard!" I said to myself.

I grabbed a sweatshirt, pulled a pair of pants on, and went right out the door.

I ran, not heeding the noise my sneakers made when they hit the floor (Me: Haha, the last two sentences rhyme). I didn't use the elevator; I had to get to her first. She had to be alright! She just had to!

I jumped a set of stairs, dangerously landing on one foot. I caught my balance and went zooming down the stairs. I got outside to the front. I stopped for a second and surveyed the distance I had to run. It seemed about a mile, but the run would wake me up and give me a good exercise.

I ran, ignoring the pain in my lungs that I get if I run for too long. I panted, and the distance I had to run seemed endless. But I finally got there and went on my hands and knees, wondering what had happened.

There was May on the ground. She had probably passed out. Or she was sleeping. I pinched her hard and yelled at her. No response. So she was unconscious. There were scratches, bruises, and one heck of a nasty splinter wound on one of her legs.

And there was a small amount of blood running down her forehead.

I gasped. What the heck happened to her? And who did this to her? I was filled with fury and I was ready to let that anger out on someone, when something or should I say, someone touched my arm.

"Whaa?" May opened her eyes gingerly, as if it took all her strength to do just that.

"May? May, what happened?" I asked, a whole lot of concern in my voice.

"I.... I.... Can... you....... keep.... it... a secret?" She barely was able to choke out the last two words.

I nodded. "We gotta get you to a hospital!" I desperately whispered.

"No........ don't.......... just get a first aid kit........ bring....... to......... your..... hotel...." Those were the last words before my rival passed into unconsciousness.

"May, hold in there!" Now powered by urgency and fury combined, the adrenaline flowed furiously through my veins. I thought of taking Flygon out, but I couldn't, since it was back inside its Poke Ball, in my room.

I picked up my rival. I was really surprised at how light she was, considering she ate a whole lot every day. I ran, gritting my teeth and pulling the unconscious girl close to my body.

We got to my hotel in a couple of minutes and I brought her to my room, without anyone finding out. I looked in my closet for a first aid kit. Nothing. I looked in the bathroom. Bingo!

I grabbed the first aid kit, and glanced at the blood on her forehead. There must be a medium-sized cut there, and on closer inspection, I proved myself right. I grabbed a gauze and put it to her head. I placed one of May's limp arms on top of the gauze to keep it in place.

I decided to look at the wound in her leg. There must have been a huge splinter for such a huge gash in her leg. I decided to use some antiseptic to clean out whatever was in that wound. I cleaned out the wound and patched it up with some strips of gauze and some surgical tape.

I inspected the wound on May's forehead again. I decided to do the same thing I did for the wound on her leg. I cleaned up the wound and taped up some new gauze to her head.

Now it was time for the little scratches. But before I did that, I decided that her head should be propped up. I grabbed a pillow and gently laid down her head. She was on the floor, and when she woke up, it'd be uncomfortable, but for me it would be easier to treat her wounds. I cleaned up the rest of the scratches and patched them up with a couple of Band-Aids.

For some reason, I got a towel soaked in some cold water. I put the towel against her forehead.

I cleaned up all the plastic wrappers and extra bits of gauze lying around.

I felt tired, but it was worth it. I saved my rival's life.

I shouldn't say "rival". She was truly my friend. My best friend, even. Or if I wanted to, I could go beyond "best friend".

Well, you get the idea. I sat next to my rival, similar to if I was sitting vigil.

The moon shined brightly, enveloping us in its light.

May's P.O.V.

My head throbbed with pain. All I remember was someone picked me up and carried me somewhere. I felt a little pain on my forehead, my leg, and on my arms.

"Mhmm?" I carefully pushed my head up.

I opened my eyes. Someone was staring right down at me. Green hair, green eyes, a guy's voice.

Who was this person again? I reached through my memories. Drew was his name, right?

"Drew?" I asked, my question barely an audible whisper.

"May? Oh, good, you're awake." Drew smiled.

"Here, drink this." Drew angled a glass toward my mouth. I opened my mouth and drank the liquid, which was water.

I felt a little more revived. And then I angled my head in all different directions. Was I on the floor?

I felt a soft hand touch the front of my forehead. "What.......... what... happened?" I wondered out loud.

"Shh... I'll tell you. Don't talk. Just rest. I have some questions of my own to ask, but you can answer them later. Okay?"

I simply nodded.

Drew began, "I heard a noise outside." He motioned toward his window. "I wondered what was going on. I looked outside and I thought I saw someone. I looked more closely and the person looked like you. So I went outside and got you. You were unconscious, but you came back to consciousness for about two minutes. You said for me to bring you to a hotel, not a hospital. And you also wanted me to keep something secret. So I carried you here. I cleaned you all up. Right now, it's......" He stopped to glance at his watch. "Right now, it's seven thirty." He finished.

I blinked several times. My thoughts and memories came flooding back. I was back on top of the Bellsprout Tower, escaping the ominous cracking and creaking of the tower.

"Hey...... Drew..... isn't the contest tomorrow?" I asked weakly.

"Yeah. You remember that at least. Tell me what happened last night," he coaxed.

"I'll..... try. Last night...... I decided to go to the tower..... to figure out who were making the sounds..... There were a couple sounds I heard from the top...... Around nine or so..... I got past the guards, by distracting them with Blaziken." I explained.

Drew nodded. "Go on."

I remembered. "Well, I got up to the top floor. There was Team Rocket's leader, Giovanni. There were a couple other people with him. They were taking some gems along with them. I challenged Giovanni to a 2-on-2 battle. I technically won, because I beat his Nidoking. I got the gems back, but we didn't finish the battle. Team Rocket flew away on some Golbats. I heard..... some.... creaking and cracking from below. So I got up on Beautifly and flew out. Fortunately, no one found out, except you."

"Hmm. Well, you beat them. That's really brave of you. I would never have the guts to do that. Can you get up?" he asked.

"If you could help me, then yeah," was my reply.

Drew helped me up. I limped because of the leg with the bad splinter. But other than that I was alright.

Dear Arceus, thank you for sending Drew with me to Johto. Thank....... you. Thank you...... Drew. If you only felt the same way I do....... My thoughts wandered.

We got out of the room.
