When I woke up, at first I had no idea where I was. I was curled up in one of the chairs in Nick's hospital room, next to Wyatt's chair, who was also sound asleep. Nick was awake and he was smiling at me. I stood up and walked over to his hospital bed. I put my hand on his forehead with a gentle smile. Poor thing. He had tubes going through his nose which were filled with fresh oxygen and antibiotics. He also had an IV in his arm.
"Good morning. You still look tired, haha," he says quietly so he wouldn't wake up Wyatt.
"I still am," I whisper.
"I didn't sleep at all. I was so happy and excited about this treatment that I was awake all night and thinking instead of sleeping," he responded.
I climbed into his small hospital bed and laid down beside him, managing to squeeze both of us in. I snuggled my head into his neck, closing my eyes to go back to sleep. He wraps his arm around me and cuddles back.
We weren't going back above ground to live there. As much as I miss the clouds, sun, stars, and moon, life itself is more important to me than the location I live in and what beautiful things I do and don't get to see.
This adventure was the most adventurous Wyatt and I have ever had. Although, it's not over. Nick is still healing and we brought a new member into the club. Well, you could also say we're dating, but it isn't official. Not yet...
