sotc: agony by yung lean
the day after the party
17 hours of sleep, vivid dreams, and waking up in your sister's house across town.
it's sunday.
salvia knew she was in deep shìt when she wakes up at karen's house, aka her older sister.
"wake up, sleepy druggie-beauty,"
a faint voice sings and footsteps surrounds salvia's body.her body felt like liquid, ears ringing at a high pitch, and head feels empty.
she groaned and rolled over, facing the cushion on the big couch and avoiding whoever it was to continue sleeping.
salvia didn't want to wake up. she felt numb and sleep was the only thing on her mind.
footsteps of the person were making the wooden floor squeak around her and walked away in the opposite direction.salvia smiled to herself and went back to sleep.
few hours go by like nothing, a phone starts going off and vibrating near her. she hears the tune and is not happy at all. her throat felt dry and rough, body feel like mush, and drug withdrawals were kicking her áss.
salvia had no idea what to do.
should she open her eyes and let them wander?
get up and empty her bladder?
get ready and leave?
of course, her anxiety is rising and random weight of pressure rises upon her body.
"fùck it," salvia mutters, getting up and walks her first steps to the downstairs bathroom.
her vision was fading to black and she instantly leaned against the wall, breathing in and out slowly to gain her vision.
at last, salvia makes it and shuts the door without making a sound. she lets out a sigh and memories of last night weren't popping up.
what the fuck happened. salvia thought to herself.
instead of just using the bathroon, she cleaned herself up and made it back in the living room.
"oh you're up!" the voice of her older sister surprised voice echos, salvia's body jumped and wanted to get the hell out of here.
"hey...karen.." salvia mumbles and turns around to face the blonde.
"you slept all day, wanna eat a sandwich before you head home or take one on the go?" karen suggests, walking towards the kitchen and already bringing out ingredients.
"i'll take it to go," salvia responds to her sister, she finds her shoes and bag on the table, then her phone somewhat seemed dead.
gladly, it wasn't after she pressed the home button and to find out isn't lost of fuel. salvia waited for her sandwhich, kissed her sister's cheek as she says goodbye, and made her way home.
in the midst of sitting on the bus stop bench, salvia struggles to gather money and eating her grilled cheese at the same time. she counted her quarters for the second time and gave up.
its two dollars, calm down and chill out. her subconscious speaks out loud.
she plugs her earbuds and shoves them into her ears to ignore the voice in her head. salvia threw away her barely eaten sandwhich and waits for the bus.
—
the day goes on when salvia makes it home and comfortably wrapped in her blanket covers, after taking a nice steamy shower and music blasting softly throughout her room.
thoughts weren't coming clear or weren't making sense, she laid in bed and stared at her phone, which was on the nightstand, faced down and charging.
in her mind, she was counting sheep and hoping to sleep to distract the loud-questioning thoughts.
they wouldn't go away.
salvia sat up and rumaged through her nightstand and grabbed her carton of cigarettes. they were empty and she felt hopeless at this point.
the next few minutes, she forcibly put on a sweater and jeans along with shabby doc martens. on her way out, salvia's parents were in the living room watching old reruns of spaghetti western and drinking jasmine tea from the hint of smell.
"i'm going out to get a shake and other essentials from the store, i'll be back soon," salvia announces before grabbing her house key and bag.
"okay, be safe when you're out," the two respond and distracted from the tv.
salvia smiles and walks out the door, locking it before walking off to the direction towards the convenience store around the block. it wasn't much of a bother for her, due to clearing her mind from the thought loops and kicking different rocks along the sidewalk.
she would usually be bothered by old homeless men and begged to be given money, but she'd grown to ignore them and repeat the phrase "fuck off", if they try to gain any attention from her.
pulling the aluminum door handle and walking in the small store, salvia grabs a pack of gum and bottled soda. the beer section caught her off guard. thoughts were running through her head.
should i buy a bottle of bacardi? it's not that much. i have enough. i can drink a little tonight. it wouldn't be bad.
"salvia?"
her thoughts snapped away and her eyes looking in the direction where the voice was heard.
only to find zach.
"oh um- wh- i- hey?"
why is he here? how did he know- ask him about last nigh- he left you, don't fall for it or you'll be hurt agai- what do you mean hurt again? what's going on?
god. shut up already.
