"I think...I think it's best we stay out of his way, at least for now. Everyone meet up in the souvenir room, I think we all deserve some answers, WALLY!"

Wally's entire being shook so uncontrollably, that he seriously worried about phasing through the floor. Maybe that would get him out of this meeting? Filing away the thought as a solid plan C, the speedster nervously lingered in his bedroom. Coincidentally, he had already been searching the area when Batman ordered them to their quarters. Though, it probably wasn't much of a blessing considering he was now left cornered.  Wally sighed as he tried calming down.  What exactly was there even to tell?  It was dark, he and Conner took down two unidentified hostiles, and then the league showed up.  And...that was it.  It was possible to pad out the story a little, but Wally doubted it would change much.  All he did was wake up, wait around in the stupid container-

Oh...OH!  Wally frantically dug through his desk drawer.  After arriving back at the mountain, Wally and Conner were cleared to rest up in their rooms while the others were placed in the infirmary.  Conner, of course, refused to leave M'gann's side, but Wally had decided to change.  Under normal circumstances, he would have happily placed the weird weapon he had recovered on the souvenir shelf and called it a night.  However, with all that was going on at the time, Wally knew it would get confiscated.  And, when it inevitably came out that the one he had didn't exactly match any of the prisoners' weapons...well he wasn't exactly ready to explain how he was rescued by a "bad guy".  Because, that's what they were, corrupted children who got in the way of the real heroes.

Wally bit his lower lip as he debated grabbing the weapon.  Conner had actually been the one to explain what happened in the warehouse to their mentors, seeing as he had been awake and in the middle of the action the entire time.  His account had included the random appearance of the two boys they ended up apprehending, Nightwing and Robin, and their subsequent battle with him.  He even mentioned hearing another two members of the group, though they managed to elude capture.  Nonetheless, Conner was convinced all four were evil, though Wally wondered if it was just bruised pride clouding his judgement.  He did end up losing pretty bad to a couple of non-meta children after all.

"Wally!"  Roy's voice suddenly echoed in Wally's mind.  "Where are you?  Everyone else is already here.  For a speedster, you really make a habit of being last."

Shaking his head, Wally knew he couldn't avoid the meeting forever. He elected to ignore the weapon and headed for the door.

"I'm coming, just give me a-"

The door slid open, sending an unexpected guest into Wally's room...and directly on top of him. Honestly, it seemed the intruder was just as surprised as Wally. When the two inevitably locked eyes, well...the one eye he could actually see through the broken mask, Wally could see the shocked look on Nightwing's face. A mirror of his own he was sure. However, reality quickly dawned on them both, and they separated and scrambled to opposite sides of the room. Slowly rising to his feet, Wally watched curiously as Nightwing struggled to do the same. The room was quiet, save for Nightwing's heavy breathing, while the two sized each other up. Despite how exhausted the smaller boy seemed, Wally knew he needed to stay on guard.

"So," Wally tentatively began, "where's Robin?"

Nightwing put on a weak smile, as he leaned against the wall. "Worried he'll sneak up on you again?"

"No!" Yes, definitely, without a doubt...

The silent contradiction must have been obvious, because the next thing out of Nightwing was a slightly hoarse laugh that somehow echoed through the room. Wally's cheeks were burning, how dare this guy suggest he's afraid of a little kid!
