His first night on the job...and he gets captured. Why this sort of bad luck only ever seemed to affect Tim was just one of those mysteries of life he was too stubborn to give up on solving.  He will find the left sock thief one day!  But, for now, as the dilapidated surroundings of an abandoned office room of some kind were coming into focus, he figured there were more pressing issues to be concerned with.  He had been knocked unconscious somehow, not too long after his unfortunate decision to separate from his dad and Dick. Tim shook his head. Why, pray tell, had he gone and done a thing like that? Suddenly, a small notification popped up in the corner of his mask lens. An incoming call? Tim quickly gave the audible confirmation to answer, as his arms were a bit tied up at the moment.

"Tweet tweet, Red Birdie."

Oh. OH! Tim remembered now. He had been following Jason after witnessing the older boy sneak away during the patrol.

"You should be honored," Jason's voice filtered into his ears from the hidden speakers imbedded within the fabric of the mask. "I think this is the first time any of us have ever actually needed to use the call feature like this. Usually me or Golden Boy would have busted out by now. Did you just miss your nap today or something? Also-" he interrupted before Tim could answer, "-you might not want to say anything. Your kidnapper is coming."

Despite the warning, Tim did manage to whisper out a message before the sound of footsteps could be heard from just beyond the door. "Get. Dad."

"What, no please? Besides, why bring him in when it's finally getting good?"

"Red Hood, I swear-"

The door burst open, slamming into the wall hard enough to knock most of the remaining paint to the floor where it promptly crumbled into powder. Tim winced, it was probably full of lead. However, it seemed as though he was the only bothered by the potential heavy metal exposure.

"So the rumored sidekick of the Batman can't handle a little dust?"

Tim tried to swallow back his fear as he laid his eyes upon the infamous villain Two-Face. Tim was no stranger to his official file, as he spent many a night combing over the collective research of his dad and brothers regarding the bad guys of Gotham. And, just as he expected, a glint of silver could now be seen coming from in between Two-Face's gloved fingers.

"Heads I make you cry, tails I make you scream."

"Can I have a third option?" Tim meekly asked. "After all, what if the coin lands on its side? That could happen. T-There's about a one in six-thousand c-chance-"

"Fine!" Two-Face snapped as he readied his toss. "If it lands on its side...then I'll just kill you. Satisfied?"

"Not really," Tim admitted. "It all seems kind of...rigged."

"Rigged? MY coin?! I'll have you know, boy, that there's nothing in the world more fair than a coin toss! It can only go one of two ways, and it has an equal chance of either!"

"...Didn't we just establish that it could land on its side? So wouldn't that be three ways, and the third one isn't equal to the other two, so it's still rigged."

Tim probably shouldn't have said that. Two-Face's...face went from annoyed to downright furious. Unfortunately, for the both of them at this point, Tim had a bit of a tendency to ramble when he was anxious.

"Then again, something could happen to the coin when it's in the air, throwing off the chances even further. A strong gust of wind could blow it away, or it could hit a bird, or-"

"Then just see what side it is on whenever it lands!" Two-Face argued.

Tim pondered the answer before shaking his head, "What if it lands at the bottom of the ocean?"
