Ava and Merlin lie there, looking at the ceiling. It has been the first time the two have spent a second together since the quest. They had woken up early in the morning to spend some time together. Ava had been helping her brother help lead reconstruction of the villages and send villagers home safely. Merlin filled her in on everything him and Gaius figured out.
"So Morgana knows the name Emrys?" she asks.
"Yes."
She lets out a sigh, remembering her dream and what that woman said. Her heart beat picks up a second.
"I think I had a vision of our descendant," she tells him, turning on our side. He turns over to look her in the eyes. "She was powerful. Fighting Lucifer himself."
"Do you think this is bound to happen?" he asks.
"I mean, if we try to stop the event, it could still happen."
"And if we do nothing, it will happen."
"So what should we do?"
"I will stand beside you no matter what will happen."
She curls up to him. The idea their great-something-grandchild probably dies fighting the father of evil himself. The fact that the princess has to make a decision on whether or not she would put this burden on a person aggravates her. But it could be the same thing as her and Merlin. Their destinies are predetermined and must happen to ensure good prevails.
"We'll let destiny takes it course," she decides. "I mean, what else can we do?"
He shrugs his shoulders while pulling her closer. Her mind keeps running through the idea of what could happen. And why did she receive this vision out of anything she could have seen about the future? Maybe it was to warn her against thinking about jumping in for her brother. But it could still have failed if Lancelot and Merlin didn't show up. So there is too many variables in her opinion.
She sits up, stretching. She looks out the window, trying to guess how long they have been there. The sun is starting to poke over the horizon. He will probably have to leave soon to conduct his daily chores. She looks out the window. He walks over and wraps around her, pulling her close to his chest. They stare out at Camelot.
"Are you worried about her?" Merlin asks.
"Yes," she quietly responds.
"I bet you she didn't even die when that happened," he tells her. "Maybe she is as powerful as you are."
She rolls her eyes slightly, smirking. Her eyebrows knit together as she thinks about something.
"What are the chances she would have your last name still?" she asks him. "Cause that would mean either some fathers don't pass their names to them or she is the first girl in that line."
He thinks about it for a second.
"I guess you would be right about that."
She chuckles slightly. She turns around and smiles at him.
"I think we should worry about our descendants," she jokes.
"Most likely." He pushes her back a bit so she is pressed against the wall. "But maybe we could focus on something else."
Her arms wrap around his neck.
"Like what?" she smirks.
"How about the handsome man in need of your attention?"
"Mmm. Can you direct me to him?"
He chuckles close the distance more between them. Their lips connect. Her arms go around his neck and his arms around her waist. The two kiss, only breaking for some air. The two of them enjoy this moment to themselves. His hands know where to rest on her hips. Her fingers intertwine in his hair. A knock on her door ruins the moment, causing them to pull away. Merlin grabs his boots and roll under her bed. She opens the door to see Leon.
"What can I help you with?" she asks.
"I was reminding you that the circus will be arriving today for your brother's birthday," he states. "And it is suppose to be some grand feast."
"Thank you," she responds. He turns to leave, but stops and leans a bit closer so know one else hears. "Merlin should find a better hiding spot than under your bed."
The knight chuckles as her face turns the same color as her hair. He leaves and she closes the door. Merlin leaves his hiding spot, shrugging when he sits up.
"I should go before your brother gets angry," he states.
"Probably," she responds. The two quickly kiss before he leaves her chambers. She looks out to watch the circus start to arrive and set up in the main entrance. Well tonight is going to be entertaining.
