SUMMARY
James Potter had spent the majority of the summer before his sixth year at Hogwarts heartbroken. Lily had broken up with him on the last day of school, and whilst it was somewhat inevitable and he had almost been expecting it, hearing it and experiencing it was a different matter.
He had no idea whether what he felt for Lily was love, if he truly thought about it. A obsession, infatuation, and just a hint of love. But James Potter had only been in love once, and it was with someone who almost certainly didn't ever love him back. Because of she did, why would she break up with him.
But after the summer party, and the arrival of Tiger Howell, James no longer thought about Lily. At least for the rest of the month of August, all he could think of was Tiger Howell, and the sunny day spent on the steps of the gazebo at the end of his garden.
