C 1 - The Meeting

(Taking place 16 years later)

"Jungkook will you hurry up? We will be late for the feeding of the mermaid!" 

The teen's mother tried to hurry her 18 year old son. Jungkook was walking slowly through the entrance of the aquarium as he was sighing knowing he didn't want to be there. He knew he was able to see what he had dreamt about for the past 13 years. He knew there was a mermaid here in the aquarium but no one ever saw it. Only the people that brought the mermaid had known that it was even real and not just a stunt. Everyone assumed that the merman was a mermaid because of his beauty.

"Mum, why are we even here? There is no mermaid. No one had ever seen it" 

As Jungkook was moaning, they had reached the tank which supposedly held the mermaid. Jungkook just stood there and looked around the tank. His mother spoke up "You just have to remember, She's shy, she was taken from her family at a young age" Jungkook sighed and said "That's if she even exists" Jungkook got closer to the tank and barely touched it, he heard a soft voice coming from inside. 'Machines humming' Jungkook thought, as he climbed over the red rope to get a little closer, he heard his mother whisper shout at him "JUNGKOOK, GET OUT OF THERE" but Jungkook was to into the sound that he didn't hear his mother, he pressed his ear to the glass and closed his eyes.

I hear something shattering

It suddenly wakes me up

I hear strange sounds

I try covering my ears but I can't fall back asleep

My throat keeps hurting

I try to wrap it

But I have no voice

Again today, I hear that sound

That sound is ringing again

Another crack forms on this frozen lake

I left myself behind on that lake

My voice was buried for you

Above the winter lake where I'm left alone

There's a thick sheet of ice

Even in my momentary dreams

The illusions that torture me are still the same

Did I lose myself?

Or did I gain you?

I started to swim to the land

Inside, I saw my face

Please, don't say anything

I hold out my hand to cover your mouth

But in the end, spring will come some day

The ice will melt away

Tell me, if my voice is fake

Should I have not thrown myself away?

Tell me, if this pain is fake

Then what must I do?

Jungkook pulled away with tears dripping from his face, he suddenly opened his mouth to speak "he sings like an angel" His mother and other passersby were staring at him, Jungkook slowly moved away and looked at them, he said "It's not a girl, it's a guy. His voice is incredible" Jungkook's mother got closer and said "Are you ok? Maybe I should take you home, you did say you weren't well this morning" Jungkook sighed and said "I was only trying to get out of coming to the aquarium, I'm not actually sick" Jungkook's mother sighed and said "Then why are you hearing things that aren't there" Jungkook looked at his mother in disgrace and spat "I know what I heard, he has an amazing voice" a boy that Jungkook knew from school came round the corner and asked Jungkook what was wrong. Jungkook looked at him and said "Jimin, the mermaid isn't a maid, after all, it's a merman and his voice is incredible" Jimin looked at him with disbelief but then sighed "Jungkook, are you 100 percent about that?" Jungkook nodded at him and so Jimin walked over the tank, he climbed under the red rope because he was too short to climb over it, Jungkook looked at him in suspense, Jimin looked into the tank and tapped on the window, he spoke "Mr merman, My friend here, Jungkook said he heard you singing, I would really like to hear you as well if that is ok?" Jimin also put his ear to the tank and 4 more ears followed his actions. Jungkook looked at the others and saw some other people he knew. Jin, Yoongi, Hoseok, and Namjoon all people he knew from his school. He didn't quite know a lot about these people but he knew them as members of a group called 'Bangtan' at his school, no one messed with them. Jungkook looked into the tank and looked closely at a small portion that he could see of the stone house, he saw a small hole, near the entrance, he concentrated and looked as close as he possibly could into the hole. He gasped at the sight. An Eye, he could see a deep brown eye staring back at him. He stood back and tripped over the red rope, he landed falling onto his bum and he scurried away towards his mum, the bangtan members were concentrating on their hearing one of them nodded, Jimin pulled away and looked at Jungkook, Jimin spoke "He said to tell you not to be scared of him and he wants to know your name" Jungkook pulled away from his mother's leg and leaped forward towards the tank, he shouted "YOU TRY SEEING AN EYE STARING AT YOU THROUGH A SMALL HOLE IN A ROCK" Jin spoke up "He said 'You try having 100's of people gawping at you every day and trying to get your attention' he's kind of right though" Jungkook climbed over the fallen rope and got closer to the tank, he closed his eyes and said "I would like to know your name, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to" None of the boys around him spoke a word, so Jungkook placed his ear against the glass and then heard a sweet but deep voice "My name is Kim Taehyung, What about you?" Jungkook smiled and softly spoke "I like your name, by the way, I'm Jeon Jungkook, it's a pleasure to meet you Kim Taehyung" Taehyung replied "Thank you, and Likewise, but I would like to see you properly, could you step away from the glass for a moment, I want to ask the other 5 something" Jungkook frowned and stepped back as the others listened carefully again. After a few minutes and a few nods from the listening boys. They pulled away and looked at Jungkook with a smile, Jungkook was looking at the ground with a frown, then realized he was surrounded by the Bangtan boys. They began to search his body for something and found his phone, Jin put Jungkook's phone in his pocket and then went back to staring at Jungkook with a smile, as the search had finished. Namjoon spoke up "Ready? 1.. 2... 3..." and on 3 Jungkook was hoisted up and pushed into the air against the glass and pushed up as high as the top of the tank, Namjoon and Jin bent their knees and then jumped with Jungkook on their palms and threw Jungkook into the tank. Jungkook screamed as he landed in the water, gobbling up some water. As he resurfaced he took a breath and shouted "You idiots, what are you doing?" Jimin shouted "HE WANTED TO MEET YOU PROPERLY SO WE JUST HELPED HIM BY PUTTING YOU IN THE SAME WATER AS HE IS IN, HE WANTED YOU TO GO INTO THE STONE HOUSE," Jungkook thought and looked down into the water, he took a breath, he slowly dived down and softly swam down towards the stone house, he got close to it but ran out of air and nearly choked, he pushed against the rock and swam up, He took an even bigger breath and dived down faster towards the stone house, he pulled himself in to be stopped midway by himself as he saw a boy a few years older than him with blue hair and brown eyes, as Jungkook's eyes slowly viewed the boys body he saw the blue tail. Jungkook looked up and down and then his breath ran out, he let the air out and then hurried back to the surface, he hung himself over the edge of the tank and blurted out "HE'S FUCKING GORGEOUS!! NOT A SINGLE PERSON COULD BE MORE GORGEOUS ON THE WHOLE OF EARTH!" Jimin smiled and said "really? That gorgeous! You are making me jealous dude" Jungkook smiled but then dove back down, he pulled himself back into the house and straight up to Taehyung, He put his hand up and touched Taehyung's face as the boy smiled at the touch, Taehyung began to move his tail around the mesmerized boy and pulled him closer, Taehyung slowly pulled the boy's face closer to his and spoke "Let me help you with the underwater breathing" Taehyung pushed his lips against Jungkook's and slowly let a little light swirl in the air around him, Jungkook's body began to breathe underwater like it was natural. They pulled apart and Jungkook gulped and spoke softly "I can breathe underwater now, I don't need to go back up, Thank you" Taehyung smiled and said "I'm glad I can help, I can't believe that you are the first human that I have spoken too" Jungkook smiled and said "really, how did you end up here and why did everyone think you were a mermaid" Taehyung giggled and said "because my parents treated me like a girl when I was growing up so everyone assumed I was one" Jungkook smiled and said, "I think you look gorgeous the way you are!" He then heard a muffled voice "Ooh Jungkook's flirting with the Merman" Jungkook looked confused and then Taehyung giggled and began to move, Taehyung grabbed Jungkook and slowly unwrapped him from his gripping tail, Jungkook was pushed out into the open water and he looked shocked, he turned towards the window and saw the Bangtan boys smiling at him but behind them was 100's of people staring at him, Jungkook gulped and spoke softly "I can see why you hide, being stared at isn't nice" Taehyung slowly began moving in the house and then Jungkook realized what he was doing, Jungkook moved closer and said, "Are you sure?" Taehyung looked at him and smiled "We can be stared at together" Jungkook smiled and held his hand out, he whispered "I really do like your voice" Taehyung blushed and said "Thank you Jungkook" "OOh he flirting again, guys!" "Jimin Shut up!" Jungkook stared at the short boy laughing and Jungkook's hand was then grabbed by Taehyung. Jungkook looked forward and they began to move away from the house. As Taehyung appeared out of the house all the viewers were in awe at his beauty. Taehyung floated beside Jungkook and now Jungkook could see Taehyung in all his beauty. The way his hair floated in the water and his tail glistened at the reflections from the lights in the aquarium. He had tanned perfect skin and a bare chest which was a six-pack. Jungkook was in shock, to say the least. He didn't think he could look any more gorgeous but he was wrong. Now the word 'Gorgeous' was an understatement, now there was not a single word in his mind to describe this beauty of a merman. Jungkook just floated there in shock as it felt as though the world was silently waiting for a laugh track at a joke but it never happened, Jungkook didn't believe that a man this beautiful, could exist in this godforsaken world. He was so shocked that he couldn't remove his eyes not even to blind, he didn't want to blink in case the beauty disappeared. After a while of staring and the shock dying down, Taehyung got a little closer to Jungkook and said: "Jungkook, are you ok?" Jungkook blinked and then gulped as Taehyung came closer by moving his tail in a swift motion, Jungkook gulped at the closeness, Taehyung raised his hand and it ended up placed on Jungkook's chest, Jungkook came out of his state and blinked over and over again. He gasped and said "You are so beautiful Taehyung" Taehyung went bright red and his tail glowed a bright blue while wrapping itself around Jungkook's body, Jungkook giggled at his reaction and held onto Taehyung's hand, Taehyung held his hand tightly and whispered "Thank you Jungkook, I knew that you were special the moment I set eyes on you" Jungkook smiled but then it sunk as he heard knocking on the glass pane to the tank.
