Most people have though of this, but what if James and Lily didn't die?
Now switch it up so it was just Lily who died, James lived.
Imagine James, waking up from being spelled unconscious, to find his crying son on the ground, in the arms of his young dead wife.

Him breaking down, and crying, Sirius showing up at their house and finding two of his best friends, one dead, the other completely changed.

Sirius would try to comfort the new parent, telling James that even though Lily isn't alive, his son is.

James would beat himself up over the fact Lily is gone and he couldn't save her.
Harry would grow up without a mother, and a father who tried his best, but could never be enough, without Lily he could never be enough.

Sad! Woo! Also I'm back, a lot of things have happened, I had a major personality change, major life switch, new friends, started therapy, and I'm doing so much better!
