Dumbledore office

third-person POV

James and Lily couldn't believe it. they had died but their daughter had lived. charlotte had survived the one curse that no one ever could. the killing curse has that name for a reason. 

"Dumbledore, who is charlotte living with" asked lily. 

"your sister" muttered Dumbledore 

"Please tell me your kidding," said James

"I'm sorry, but alas I am not" 

"You know petunia hates anything to do with magic. why of all places would you send her there" said lily 

"The only way she would be protected from possible threats was to send her to a blood relative to keep the protective charms in place"

"Dumbledore, please tell me you kept an eye on her" 

" I had Arabella fig watching over her," said professor dumbledore 

"Are you serious. shes a squib. she would do anything to have magic and would go to any lengths to get  it" Said, James

"Even if Arabella was giving me fake reports charlotte came to Hogwarts and looked just fine. a little skinny but other than that..." 

"Dumbledore you of all people should know that when a person is underweight that should be the first sign off worry," said lily 

" lily, charlotte has been at Hogwarts for 4 years, heading onto five. never have I had any reason to be concerned for her safety whilst living at privet drive" 

Lily and James sighed. they just hoped that their daughter was alright. they also hoped that charlotte would be able to accept the fact that they were back. 

"Before you two are able to meet your daughter it would be recommended that we reintroduce you to the order" 

" Oh boy. this isn't going to go down well," said James 

"I am going to have to put a charm on you both. the order is currently in a meeting so I am going to apparate there. I will introduce you to Remus and Sirius first. after that, I will announce it to the rest of the order. as I am aware charlottes friends Ron and Hermione are currently there as well. so you will be able to meet with them." said dumbledore 

"I'm not expecting anyones reactions to be pleasant," said lily

"I'm sure once they find out you are who you say you are then everything will be smooth sailing from there"

"With Sirius involved I doubt it" mumbled lily 

"Speaking of Sirius you never told us how he got himself landed in Azkaban in the first place, said, James

"Everyone was convinced that he was your secret keeper, that he was the one who sold you to Voldemort" 

"You of all people should know that Sirius would never do that. he would rather die than betray us to Voldemort" 

" you told no one about the swap between Sirius and peter" 

" He should have at least received a trial, and been questioned under vertiserum" questioned lily

"Unfortunately no, fudge didn't seem it necessary, and I agreed" 

"You're kidding me right. Sirius would have never betrayed us"

"no one knew that. they all thought Sirius was guilty" 

"so where is Sirius now," asked James

"he is currently residing in grimald place" 

" in that old manky place, why" 

"he was an escaped Azkaban prisoner," said dumbledore

" give it to Sirius to be the first one to escape a high-security prison" mumbled lily

" so he's still a convicted prisoner" 

" Actually no, he was declared innocent"

" I'm so confused," said lily 

" it is a rather long story, I shall let him explain. it might please you to know that your daughter was actually the soul reason Sirius was cleared" 

James and Lily looked at each other with sad smiles on there faces. they made a silent agreement. they would never leave their daughter alone again. 

" now I believe the order meeting should be finished shortly, shall we" said dumbledore

Lily and James grabbed onto dumbledores' arm and all apparated to the park nearby Grimmauld place. 

all they knew was that tonight was going to be...interesting
