Saving Charlotte

Third-person

Lily and James sat in Grimmauld place with the rest of the order minus... well a lot. somehow Fudge had pulled through, and The wizarding world now knew that lily and James potter were back.

"You know it's probably not that bad," said ginny.

the remaining order was sitting in Sirius' living room surrounding the coffee table. no one was really talking. they were all too worried about charlotte.

"Ginny, we all know that it's gotta be bad for charlotte to not respond. if shes doesn't get our letters she starts up her own conversation" said Fred

" Fucking hell," said ginny.

none of the adults had the heart to tell ginny off.

"you alright mate," asked Fred, nudging George on the shoulder.

from what lily knew, the twins were inseparable. it wasn't like George to be gloomy. Lily knew that George had to have a strong relationship with charlotte to be effected this bad. anyone could see that it was more than a friendship.

George nodded in response. something had to be up.

"George," asked Hermione.

" I need some air," he said, walking out of the house and into the back yard.

Fred went to stand up to follow him, however, James and lily both decided that they could help.

"I know he's your twin, but would you mind if we talked to him," asked James gesturing to him and lily.

" go ahead," said Fred taking a seat back down.

" do you mind" asked lily taking a seat next to george. george shrugged his shoulders and james sat as well.

"What are you doing here," asked George hugging his knees

"To make sure you're okay," said lily

"Well I'm fine," said George, moodily

"you're fine my ass," said James.

that somehow made George crack a smile.

"Geroge, Charlotte's your girlfriend, isn't she," asked lily.

Fred sighed and nodded his head".

"I would give you the don't break my daughter talk but I don't think this is the right time," Said James

"Your worried aren't you," asked lily

" it's just that, so many bad things have been happening to charlotte, and now this. she's gone through too much for a 14-year-old"

"We all know that George. What's important is that you stay positive for charlotte. she needs positivity in her life. and that's you, George. she needs someone who makes her forget about her past" said James.

" you guys don't understand how much pain she's gone through," said George

"We know that. but we're going to find out" said lily

" I'm sorry for overreacting," said George

"George, it's understandable. we should probably get you back inside" said James

"Thank you Mr and Mrs potter"

" it's no trouble at all," said lily

The selected order was on their way to privet drive.

"Why is it so quiet," asked Sirius

"It's pretty late at night," said Remus

" Can I help you?" asked a lady from behind them

"We're looking for 4 privet drive," Said tonks

the lady visibly stiffened

"Why would you need to go there," she asked

"My goddaughter lives there," said Sirius

" charlotte," she said

" That's her," said Remus

" oh lord, you need to save her. please. she's not okay, she needs help" she begged

"what's going on," said Sirius

"I head screaming every night. I hear thudding. every night I look through my window and see her, Charlotte . she's beaten and bruised\ and looks like she's about to die. normally she can hold off until she goes back to her boarding school, but I'm afraid she won't make it till then" said the women

"What's she like now" asked Sirius, worry itching his insides

" I Haven't heard anything today. I was about to head to the police"

" oh merlin"

" Help her, please, my daughter will never forgive me," said the woman.

without a moment's hesitation, Sirius walked down the street until he found number 4. without even thinking, he kicked down the door.

"Who's there," asked Vernon

"Where is she," asked Sirius

" the girl, who knows" spat Vernon

"Where is my goddaughter," asked Sirius sticking his wand to his neck

"That good for nothing brat"

" tell me," said Sirius pushing the wand further in his neck

"Sirius" he heard someone yell.

Sirius removed the wand from Vernon's throat and ran up the stairs.

"Sirius" whispered Remus from the door

"What happened is she okay" begged Sirius

"Someone call a healer" she heard tonks shout from inside the door.

"Sirius it's not a pretty sight," said dumbledore

"That's my goddaughter," said Sirius.

"Prepare yourself," said Remus.

he opened the door to reveal a bloodied and beaten charlotte.

" oh merlin," said Sirius dropping his wand and running over to his broken goddaughter.

"Why would someone do this to her," he said

" I don't know," said tonks sad

" Come on charlotte, wake up please" cried Sirius.

"we've lost her pulse" yelled tonks.

charm after charm, nothing could get her conscious again. Sirius gave it one last chance.

"Renerverte," he said. suddenly tonks could feel her pulse again .

"What did u do, Said tonks.

It doesn't matter. it won't last for long. she needs help" said Sirius

"a healer is on its way"

"Will she make it"

"She'll have to"

"Come on charlotte, please hold on"

"Sirius here injuries are too bad. we can't do anything" said tonks

Sirius couldn't help but cry. he had let down his goddaughter. the one who had done everything for him.

"Move out of the way, said the healer from st mungos

'Please be okay' Sirius thought

"Sirius" said lily as he walked in with the rest of the order.

"Wheres tonks asked James

"At st mungos, with charlotte" said Remus.
