"No you've done it wrong" Charlotte laughed almost falling of the couch, only being caught by georges arms.
"Then you demonstrate miss perfectionist" said Fred in a fit of frustration.
The group of kids had challenged the adults to a yoga challenge. Of course the children were winning, but all of them got more enjoyment about watching everyone fail.
"How in merlins beard did you manage that" laughed James commenting on Sirius' interesting choice of pose.
"I don't think you understand... IF I KNEW, I WOULDN'T BE STUCK HERE PRONGS" yelled sirius slowly figuring out how to untangle himself.
"So, I think it's settled. Hermione and Charlotte, and George and Fred both tie for first place" announces remus
"No, not fair, come on one more pose" begged hermione.
"I think if this goes on any longer than someone's going to end up snapping a bone"
Laughed molly, causing the rest of the group to chuckle
"Alright, come on everyone, all of you have to go home" said James, causing a sigh to escape from everyone's mouths
"Sorry everyone but we're going to diagonal alley tomorrow, and if I keep you any longer than your all going to be to tired to go" laughed lily.
Slowly the group started leave one by one into the fire place. Slowly leaving only the potter and Sirius.
"So what's the plan" said Sirius making himself comfortable on the couch.
" padfoot, I was wondering if maybe you could step out of the room for a moment" said James giving Sirius a wealth glare
"Ahhh a family conversation, I understand. I'll be back soon" said Sirius walking out of the room.
Left were Charlotte, lily, and James all seated around the living room in an awkward silence.
"We've talked to dumbledore and st mungos, and we've been thinking that maybe... we shouldn't send you back to hogwarts for the year" said James trying not to wince at Charlotte's pained face
"What why" said Charlotte with desperation in her voice.
"We think that after everything that's happened maybe you should learn your material for the upcoming year here with me and your mum to teach you.
"But-i- I'll be fine, why would you suggest that" said Charlotte
"We just think mayb-"
"You don't trust me do you" said Charlotte
"Honey, it's not that-"
"Yes it is, you don't trust me not to do something stupid. You don't think I can responsibly look after myself"
"No Charlotte you need to-"
"Why won't you just let me go back, I'll be with everyone-"
"You tried to kill yourself charlotte" screamed James causing the room to fall silent and Charlotte to instantly back away.
"You tried to kill yourself twice. We just don't want to face the risk of the same thing happening at hogwarts. We know you love it there but we can't keep an eye on you 24/7" said lily trying to hide the pure pain in charlottes eyes.
"You don't understand. I don't remember the last time I was told I love you. The last time I was tucked into bed, not even the last time I was told a bed time story. It was always me alone, in the cupboard under the stairs. I always watched dudly get spoilt rotten, and always questioned why that couldn't be me. Why I couldn't get the same love Dudley did"
Lily and James stayed quiet
"I started to think that maybe I was u lovable, that I was to much of a burden to be able to look after. I thought the way I was treated was because I wasn't important enough to love. And now I have you my parents back I've started to understand what love is, and how I should have been treated. I tried to kill myself because I thought that I would have to live like that forever. In constant pain. Here I was thinking that I would finally have someone who understood, but now I know you don't" said Charlotte tears falling down her cheeks.
Charlotte suddenly sprinted up the stairs into her room and slammed the door shut.
"James what have we done" said lily trying not to cry for the treatment her daughter received.
"I don't know lily, but let's give her some time, then we should try a different approach, and talk to her about it".
They could only hope they hadn't hurt Charlotte more by taking those actions. We're they benefiting Charlotte, or were the benefiting themselves...
