December 31th, 1990, residence of George Michael, London, England.

Christmas passed in a pleasant atmosphere - Pearl was exemplary, and Dakota and Deidre, eleven-year-old twins, really liked their brother-in-law. George showed them the recording studio and even let Dakota record a demo.

— Will you send this song to a producer?— Dakota looked hopefully at what he rolled his eyes at.

—Maybe, sugar — George said cheerfully and patted the girl's head. Dakota was as cute as Missy, Deidre seemed more restrained.

Pearl and the twins were to fly to the States on New Year's Day, late afternoon. Missy was sitting in the living room with her mother when Pearl began:

—I didn't mean to tell you, but a few days ago someone called me.

Missy looked at her mother and raised an eyebrow.

—Who do you mean, mom?— Missy asked what Pearl sighed.

Prince.— Her mother replied. —Is he all right?

Missy turned to see if George was around.

—Don't repeat it a second time — Missy whispered. —George. He gets a white fever at the thought of Prince.

—Your husband is jealous — Pearl noted. —Your Prince can't be reconciled with all this and ...

He must — Missy said firmly. —My story with him is in the past. Now I am married and have my own family. What did he say exactly?

— He made a long argument that you are his soul mate and that your place is with him. Honey, I think he was drunk or on drugs.

Or both — Missy sighed. —I know from Ingrid Chavez that Prince likes to experiment with painkillers, he once tried marijuana.

And your husband?— Pearl asked and shook her daughter's hand. —How do you know that he is free from drugs?

—I know that — Missy said. —George once had a stupid moment, like any aspiring singer.

It was the truth. When George was not at home once, Missy searched their bedroom and George's office thoroughly. She had a vision that she would find drugs, but that didn't happen. She didn't have time to search the entire mansion. She only had a moment when Gwen went out to do major shopping. Missy was afraid that George would realize she was rummaging his things, but that didn't happen.

She didn't notice that her husband was ever stoned, but she wasn't sure he wasn't taking drugs when he was at someone's house.

—He's a famous person — Pearl looked at her daughter with concern. —Such people are sober only for a moment.

—Not every celebrity is total degenerate — Missy murmured and slipped her hand out of her mother's grasp. —George is a good human, but as you know, no one is perfect.
