Rewind

Chapter 1

It was early in the morning and Quinn was getting ready for work.

Quinn worked at Saw and co the biggest law firm in the area. It's what she worked so hard for.

She was a recent graduate and this was her first real job and for the first few months she loved it but now she was only looking forward to coming home.

"This will do" she said after she got ready.

Quinn has always wanted to be a lawyer, it was one of her dreams she set as a little kid.

She had a lot of dreams and it made her wonder if she chose the right one.

She had about a 30 minute drive to work and one of her tasks in the morning was to grab coffee for everyone. She didn't mind since she got to grab some also but this isn't what she wanted.

Monday through Friday she would sit and review case files and it was easy work but she couldn't wait till she got to take on her own cases.

Luckily for Quinn it was Friday and she has the next 2 days of pure freedom and silence. Which ultimately meant she would be hiding in her apartment and watching movies.

Going through case files could either be really fun or really boring depending on the case she is reading.

She got done early and asked to leave and was allowed.

Before she went home she picked up food and headed home for a early night sleep.

Her apartment wasn't ideal but it was manageable and it was home.

She ate her early dinner and called it a night.

Her dreams were weird, not weird in a bad way but she was spooked.

Her dream was about her going back in time and changing how her life turned out.

She didn't disagree with her dream, she actually wished she could go back and choose a different path.

She brushed the dream off  like it never happened.

She spent the morning cleaning her apartment.

After that she wanted to just stay home but she thought about going to the bookstore and add more books to her collection that she didn't need.

She had a little breakfast and went out.

The bookstore was just down the street so she decided to just walk.

Even though her life isn't the most perfect the bookstore always made her feel happy.

She bought 3 books and headed back home.

The walk from the bookstore to her apartment was a nice one.

There was a playground on her way and seeing all the kids being care free and happy is what she missed.

She would give up everything to be a child again.

When she returned home she put her books with the rest and was thinking about starting a movie.

In the spare bedroom in her apartment was where the movies were.

She picked out a movie and started it.

Once the movie was over she took the movie out of the DVD player and put it back in the room.

Before she left the room she noticed a random door that she has never seen before.

She was hesitant to open it but she did.

Wherever she was it was dark "hello" she said.

Then all of a sudden light appeared and there was a random guy in there.

"Hello who are you?" She asked.

"I'm Hal and I'm your guardian".

"Ok Hal my guardian what are you doing here?"

"To give you a chance".

"Chance for what?"

"To pick a new pathway for your life".

"What do you mean?"

"I mean if you agree I can take you back to when you were a kid and can change everything you know now but there's one condition".

"Which is?"

"When you go back you'll be going back as you are and you will see your younger self but you can't talk or let her see you because it's complicated".

"If I can't talk how am I suppose to change my path".

"Well that is up to you. Do you want to go?"

Quinn didn't take time to think and she quickly said yes.

"I Hal is granting Quinn Richards a do over" he said.

He then threw some weird powder in her face which caused her to sneeze and pass out.

When she woke up she was back in her hometown at the diner of her first job.

She recognized almost everyone in there and she thought she was dreaming but she wasn't.

"What can I get you" the waitress asked who happened to be her old boss Sally who was a lot younger then when she started.

She wondered how old she was in this time period.

"Uhh just a grilled cheese and some sprite".

"That will be right out".

She was so freaked out but had to act normal.

Once her food arrived she forgot how good it was. She hasn't been back in her hometown in almost a year.

Once she got a job in her now town she just got an apartment to stay close to school.

Her parents still lived there and her brother just outside of town.

After she finished eating and luckily had her wallet still with her she paid for her food and left.

She walked towards her childhood home and passed by the old park she spent most of her time at.

When she got there she saw herself.

She was about 10 years old and was just in the 5th grade. She knew this because of her hair in 2 little braids because she hated her hair natural at that age.

She couldn't remember why she would start here at this exact moment but she was soon going to find out.
