Our Old Favourite Spot

A small flower in a field of green
The most beautiful sight I've ever seen

A shock of white amongst the grass
So small and still, I'd almost walked past

A fast approach and soon I see
It's prettier than I could've dreamed

I seem to shake but I'm not cold
The cool night air refills my soul

I breathe in the chill, bathe in the night
Then think of you and it all feels right

I watch the clouds release their rain
From just behind this simple pane

Hearing the drops, their subtle roar
I doze off to sleep, worry no more

Wake up once more, the rain still falls
But it's gentler now, a more calming call

The skies grow calm and all is still
I found my self back on that hill

Our favourite spot to watch the sun
Is much lonelier with only one

I think of you when I see the lake
And now is when I really shake

You wouldn't like to know I cried
Over something as small as saying goodbye
