Life is nowhere easy, but many find it can be too much. This causes a tsunami of trouble. Drugs, self-harming, alcohol and fights are the monsters of life that threaten to swoop up and prey on us. But it is the truly strong people that dodge the monsters and in turn stay far away from them. And these people are who you will grow to love, if you so choose...
Scarlet: (we take place in a boring bedroom that looks uncomfortably out of place. The walls are bare and the bed is neatly made tucked in. The grand desk that is the most acquitted item in the room is taken by an ocean eyed brown haired girl.She almost looks unhealthy with her appearance as if she hasn't slept good in awhile.) (writing on her typewriter) (she licks her lips in pure concentration as she starts to type away furiously)(She smiles at her work and pulls the sheet out of the writer and files it neatly away)(Amelia knocks on the door startling her) Come in.
Amelia: (in walks Amelia, her name suits her well as she almost bounces with each step she takes. The girl looks in her mid twenties. Her Stormy grey eyes compliment her almost black hair. She walks in with a glass of water and a plate of a sandwich) Hey Scarlet. You haven't come down in a hot minute. Well- I figured- Are you hungry?
Scarlet: (She smiles at her best friend's quirky ways) Gluten free bread?
Amelia: (rolls her eyes) With light mayo, hold the onions and 2 slices of cheese.
Scarlet: (smiles and takes a bite out of it)
Amelia: You'd think after knowing you for 3 years I would know your sandwich preferences.
Scarlet: Thank you 'meils.
Amelia: And since i'm your best friend, I'm allowed to tell you that you look like crap. Seriously Scar, how long has it been since you slept?
Scarlet: (looks down at Amelia like she was a child getting her hand caught in the cookie jar) I just had to finish Chasing Waterfalls and then I was going to sleep.
Amelia: Well for starters, please brush your hair and second get some caffeine in you if you still continue not to sleep. (she picks up some cans of Pop and some wrappers and starts to walk out of the door)
Scarlet: I love you 'meils!! (starts to bite her thumb nail)
Amelia: (looks back and glares at her) Mhm, and get that out of your mouth, you told me you were going to stop biting your nails!
Scarlet: Yes mother. (snickers as Amelia slams the door behind her)(she plops down on her bed and sleeps easily)
(on the near side of town in New Mexico)
(in a run down abandoned building there lies a boxing ring in the middle of the massive room. Among the sides of the ring are many people yelling and cheering. There are two fighters in the middle. One clearly has the upper hand, and even weighs 50 more pounds than him. This is a 5'8 muscular, brown-haired, hazel-eyed Drug Mafia leader. He not only packs a punch but he also carries the weight of the gang in his pocket, his name is Noah Jamie Blackwell. Across from this late twenties guy is a lean and muscular latino man. While height is on his side he does not have even balance and this will be his immolation other than his latino mouth.) (The crowd is in favor of Noah and this takes effect on the other man)
Latino: (he has a bloodied nose and his eye is swollen shut) He tries to throw a punch)
Noah: (ducks his body and swings upward to make him lose his balance.)(Noah kicks him one final time and he falls unconscious)(the only harm to Noah is his bloodied knuckles)
Fight Club Warden: (holds up Noah's hand to signal he has won the fight)
Announcer: Noooooaaah the Punisher!!!! (the crowd goes wild)
Noah: (walks to the back entrance and meets up with a blonde haired green-eyed lean but muscular man who is giving a bro hug to Noah he is in his late twenties)
Luke: (breaking the bro hug) Great fight out there.
Noah: Thanks but it was nothing.
Luke: I have to show you something back at the house.
(people start to surround Noah with cheers and slaps on the back)
Noah: (makes eye contact with Luke and nods. With their many years of friendship Luke understands that Noah will be there)
Luke: (walks outside and puts on his bike helmet, it is all black. The sky is night and dark. He pulls out his bike and speeds away.)
(Some time has passed and it is the early hours of the morning.)
Luke: (is scrolling through some web sites and lists. He has a notebook with scribbles that look like he is tracking something.)(In walks Noah with sleep circling under his eyes) You look like shit dude. (smirks and sips out of his water bottle.)
Noah: I haven't slept at all. I was at the after party but then some dipshit called the cops. I had to go bail out Rodrigo, he had some dope on him. (sits in a chair next to Luke)
Luke: You tell the man to leave his drugs at home, what does he do? He goes and brings them to a party.
Noah: He never was the bright one of the gang.
Luke: Well, I was doing some digging on Scarlet, (turns his monitor to Noah) She was checked into Sunyside General last week.
Noah: Do you know what for?
Luke: It says here that she was listed under a panic attack that led to a seisure.
Noah: How long was she hospitalized?
Luke: (clicks some buttons) Well, it has a red line through her departure slot, meaning that she left without being discharged.
Noah: Can you get a picture at least from the system?
Luke: No, (confused) but it says that she is late on- wait a second. (pulls up a huge medical bill) She's had 6 hospitalized panic attacks within this past month. She's racked up quite the medical bill.
Noah: I wonder why she's getting them so frequently.
Luke: I'm getting nothing about pictures. (scrolling through) But panic attacks are usually triggered by stress, maybe the medical bills are stressing her out?
Noah: I have no idea, but we should check out the Sunyside area.
Luke: Not right now, you need to sleep. And if she checked into it that means she lives near Sunnyside. So she's not going anywhere.
Noah: (scowls) Fine. But we are going to check it out as soon as I wake up.
Luke: Alright.
Noah: (walks out half way)(stops) Hey, thank you for helping track her down.
Luke: I would do anything for you Noah, you're my brother.
Noah: (walks out)
