Chapter Five

Noah: (hands Scarlet a pistol)(unloads the gun) You unload it like this, (licks his lips as he loads it again) and load it back up like this. Then you just aim and shoot.

Scarlet: Simple enough. (takes the gun and puts it tucked in her shirt on her back)

Luke: Here's the number he called us with.

Scarlet: (dials up the number)(the person answers) Dad.

Daniel: Scarlet. So I see you're interested in the life of your friend, what was her name? Amelia?

Scarlet: Leave Amelia alone, she doesn't need to be involved in this!

Daniel: (holds the phone up to Amelia)

Amelia: Scarlet!

Scarlet: Amelia?

Amelia: It's a trap, don't come for me- he- he's going to-

Daniel: I hate to cut this short but the clocks ticking. You know where to meet me, and if I catch anyone else I will snap your friends neck. (the call ends)

Scarlet: (throws the phone down) We need to leave now. (goes to grab her car keys but Noah puts a new set in her hand)

Noah: We were going to give you this at a better time, but you needed a practical car. So we got you a bullet proof one. (drops the keys in her hand)

Scarlet: thank you. (they walk out and the guys get in the back of the car while Scarlet starts the car and speeds off) Where do we need to go?

Noah: Here. (hands her a gps)

Scarlet: (She is speeding. They get there and Noah mics her up)

Noah: Be safe. (rests his hand on her face and tucks a stray hair behind her ear)

Scarlet: I love you.

Noah: I love you too.

(Scarlet nods at Luke and he nods back)(She walks in)

(the hallway is black with the exception of a few hallway lights.)

Scarlet: Daniel. (calls out.) (she looks around and spots a room with a screen and monitor surveying the premise.)(she looks at a paper with markings on it when she gets startled by her father.)

Daniel: What do you think you're doing in here?

Scarlet: (is shocked in the way her father has aged. The man once lean and young was now fat, old, and balding. The appearance of the man made Scarlet sick and wanting to leave as soon as possible.) Where is she?

Daniel: Anxious are we? (takes the paper out of her hands and places it in the pocket of his jacket.)

Scarlet: (bites her lip in worry at the thought of knowing that this will not play out well)

Daniel: Come this way. (shows her to a room with Amelia in the corner with bruises and cuts all over her face and body.)

Scarlet: (rushes up to her and gets on her knees) 'Melia?

Amelia: (awakens and grabs Scarlet's hands)(whispering with a cracked voice) Why are you here? You need to leave now, before he hurts you too.

Scarlet: It will be okay. Trust me, I know what I'm doing. (she gets up and turns to Daniel) Name your price. How much is it going to cost to take her with me?

Daniel: That's a tough one, you see. I can't just let her go. If I do, she'll run to the cops and report me, then I'll eat shit.

Scarlet: We won't report you as long as you let her go.
