I looked at Y/N as she introduced herself to Haneul, and Haneul's face scrunched up as soon as she heard her name. I raised an eyebrow to Haneul, and she motioned to talk to me in private. We excused ourselves, and we went back to the car.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"I don't know if I can do this, Mingi. Y/N and I have history," she replied.
"What? What do you mean, history?" I said.
"I may be older than you guys, but we were in the same school for a year. I—I wasn't the greatest person to her..." Haneul said, eyes avoiding mine. I was shocked at this revelation. Sweet Haneul, who everyone knew to be the sweetest person in town, once bullied the girl I loved? "Will you apologize to her? Maybe she'll be receptive to that."
"I don't know, Mingi. I feel bad now and not as confident as before. I don't know if I can help you as I promised," she said, her eyes filled with tears. I reached for her and hugged her tight.
"It's okay if you don't help me. You being here has helped me a lot already. Apologize to her, okay? That's all I want from you right now," I said. She nodded her head, and we went back to the line. Y/N was staring daggers at us as we got closer, and I gave her an apologetic look.
"What took you guys so long? We're up next!" you said impatiently.
"Honey, relax. They were probably making out," Yunho said as he winked at Mingi. "Which, by the way, just let me know when you want to." You looked at Yunho, and he gave you a smirk. You blushed and ignored his comment. You guys went to select your golf clubs, and you guys started to play. Yunho and Mingi complimented each other's personalities well, so all four of you were roaring with laughter at every joke made. After the first round, you guys decided to take a break. You guys went to the food stand and ordered some snacks.
"I'm going to go to the bathroom," Haneul said.
"Oh, I'll go with you! I need to go too," Yunho volunteered. Both of them left for the bathroom, and you were left alone with Mingi. You both drank silently from your sodas, and it was awkward.
"Are you happy with him?" Mingi suddenly asked. You looked up from your drink, surprised. You didn't think Mingi would be this straight forward to you.
"I like being with Yunho. He's a happy virus and makes everyone around him happy," you said.
"But does he make you happy?" Mingi asked again.
"Why do you care?" you asked defiantly. Mingi looked taken aback.
"Y/N, I care more than you think. You both are my best friends, and I wouldn't want you guys to do anything that can harm our friendships," Mingi said.
"You don't have to worry about anything Mingi, Yunho and I aren't official yet," you replied.
"Are you serious?"
"I am serious, Mingi. He hasn't asked me to be his girlfriend or anything. We're just hanging out," you said.
"You haven't fallen for him yet. Why not?" Mingi looked thoughtful as he sat there, awaiting your answer. You couldn't keep his eyes off him, and you started to think why haven't you fallen for Yunho. What is stopping you from being with him? Yunho was tall, gorgeous, kind, and so so funny. You sat back against the chair and sighed loudly, not knowing what to answer. Out of nowhere, you two big hands cover your eyes, and your hand shot up to place your hand on his.
"Yunho," you sais softly. He placed his arms around your shoulders and brought his face next to your cheek.
"How did you know it was me?" he asked.
"You touch me all the time! How can I not know how your hands feel by now?" you asked. You turned to face Yunho's face, and he was red in the face.
"Oh, so you guys get freaky, huh?" Mingi said, tilting his head to the side. He wasn't smiling, and it didn't seem like he was teasing.
"NO! That's not what I meant. We hold hands a lot and stuff," you rushed to explain.
"It's okay, Mingi and I hold hands a lot too," she said, winking at you. You forced a smile and looked away.
"Y/N, come with me. I want a drink. Let's leave the boys here," Haneul said as she reached for your hand. You couldn't even deny her request as she held your arms with such force. She dragged you to the food stand and finally let you go.
"There's something I have to talk to you about," Haneul said.
"Look, I'm only nice to you because you're San's sister. San is the purest soul I've ever met, and he adores Yunho and Mingi. Apparently, Yunho and Mingi adore you, so let's just leave it at that," you said.
"I know when we were younger, I wasn't nice to you. I'm really sorry I acted that way, but that's not what I wanted to talk to you about," she said.
"Haneul, please. There's nothing else we could even talk about--" you said.
"Mingi likes you," she interrupted you. You look at her in shock, as she calmly ordered a lemonade from the food stand. She sipped on it sweetly, looking up at you through her eyelashes.
"Why did you tell me this? I'm with Yunho-- sort of," you said.
"He can't muster up the courage to tell you, and I don't want you to miss out on someone who truly loves you. He's been in love with you for a long, long time. Consider this my peace offering gift from all the damage I did to you when we were younger," Haneul said, and she walked back to the boys with a massive smile on her face. You stared after her, and she planted a sweet kiss on Mingi's cheek. Mingi looked at her in confusion and then searched for you from where Haneul came. Mingi caught your gaze and stared at you-- realizing that you finally knew his feelings.
