"NEW YORK?! Eiji, why do you want to go back there?"

Eiji felt a shiver go through his spine. What would  happen if Eiji went back to America? Would he get chased down by Golzine? Get kidnapped by Yut Lung and sold off as a sex slave?

He sighed heavily before returning to the call with his sister. "I need...to visit someone."

Kaori growled upon hearing his thoughtless proclamation. "You need to VISIT SOMEONE? Why don't they just fly over here Eiji?!" She spat out bitterly. She felt her anger bubbling in her throat, slowly, waiting to fall out. "Are you going to come back and lock yourself in your room for a month again? Are you going to spend all your time crying and pretending to not CUT YOURSELF?!"

Eiji felt his eyes grow wet and glassy. "I won't this time. I promise. I'll fly back with both of us," Eiji breathed, his voice shaking. He looked up to his beige ceiling. His eyes closed, and he whispered something sounded like a prayer.

His sister groaned, "I--You should go. I'm in no position to convince you to stop. As long as you promise to come back home in good spirits. Then I won't get mad." This made Eiji give out a wet chuckle.

He wiped leaky tears off of his eyes. "I promise, Nii-chan. I love you." He pressed the 'hang up' button. Eiji looked at the phone in his hand. He looked toward the window. Coral light shot through, illuminating the house.

"Ash, I will find you."

---

2 weeks had passed since Eiji purchased his plane tickets to New York. He was waiting in the airport with his sister, sipping on cozy matcha tea. "When are you going to come back?" Kaori asked to break the ice.

Eiji looked over at his little sister. She was trembling slightly, and was biting her lip. He placed a caring hand on her back. "Once we're both ready to leave." Kaori turned to face Eiji with her eyes widening and nearly about to cry.

"O-Ok-Okay." She mumbled. Kaori brought her hands up to her eyes. "I ha-have something for you," She opened her bag and grabbed out an good luck charm. It said 'Family'.

"I know we aren't going through a crisis right now, but I wanted to give this to you so... we can stay connected on other ends of the Earth." Kaori sighed.

Eiji burst into laughter. "Who knew my little brat of a sister could be so motherly!" He started to cry tears of pure amusement into her shoulder. Kaori scoffed. "Just wait until you get home."

A ding appeared on the overhead.

"Tokyo to New York City. Your flight is ready for departure. Please head to gate 33A."

Eiji looked up and back over to his sister. He smiled and gave her a tight hug. "Don't worry about me, I'll be back soon enough." Kaori felt tears slip away from her eyes, "Okay."

He grabbed his tea and rolled his suitcase away.

He was ready to let Ash into his life again.
