"I never asked you to," I replied to him, fidgeting under his scrutinizing gaze.

"Obviously. Usually I can get people figured out pretty easily, but with you it's like impossible. I mean, you literally just had a panic attack right in front of me when I asked about Spencer. What kind of secrets are you hiding?" He asked, stepping closer, looking down at me. I hated how he was looking at me, I hated how he kept trying to study me, I hated feeling like I was under a microscope.

"I thought we were supposed to be talking about when we're meeting up next for this project we have to do. Maybe you should just stay out of my business. We're not friends and you're an asshole most of the time," I shot back, surprised at myself for being able to say something so confident, but really mean. I saw Asher clench his jaw and look to the side, like he was angry. I immediately felt remorse at my words, and started to apologize but he cut me off quickly.

"You're right. We're not friends," he said flatly, no emotion in his eyes whatsoever. "Come over to my house after school today; I'll drive you. After this, we'll never have to talk to each other again. Happy?" He walked off without leaving me a chance to reply. To say that no, I wasn't happy, and that I actually enjoyed how company when he was being nice. But of course, I had to mess it up for myself, just like I mess everything else up in my life.

I stood in the hallways for a few more seconds and watched him walk away until he was no longer in view. The bell rang and students flooded out into the hallways, pushing and shoving past me as I just stood there. I blinked my way out of the stupor I was in and continued to my next class, which was PE.

I entered the girls locker room where girls were chatting cheerfully around me, getting changed into their PE clothes. I always hated changing in the locker room, and would usually wait until everyone else was gone before revealing my body to the room. Unfortunately, that often got me a lot of tardies from Coach Reynolds, who apparently didn't understand the concept of wanting some privacy. However, seeing as I was already in leggings, sneakers, and a hoodie, I just opted to skip the changing and keep on the clothes I was wearing since they could pass for gym clothes.

"Not changing? She must not want people to see that disgusting body of hers. I can't say I really blame her though, I think I would kill myself if I looked like that," Lindsay whispered, quite loudly, to her friends. They all looked at me and laughed amongst themselves like she had just said the funniest joke in the world.

I sighed and leaned my forehead against the cool locker in front of me, fed up with my day. I guess my burst of confidence from talking to Asher earlier was still affecting me because instead of staying silent like I normally did, I asked, "What were you doing in Mr. Henderson's room earlier Lindsay? It looked like you two were having a pretty intimate conversation." The smile dropped from her face almost immediately and she turned from me to leave the locker room hurriedly, her friends trailing behind her. I was a little shocked she hadn't come up with a snarky insult to throw back at me, like she normally would. Maybe something really was going on between her and our english teacher. In any case, I didn't have much time to think about it because class was officially starting and I had to follow my class outside to where we were playing soccer. As mentioned before, sports aren't exactly my forté, and I dreaded this class more than any other. Especially today when I was feeling exhausted from lack of nourishment.

I joined my class on the field and awaited my teachers instructions, hoping I could just stand somewhere and not do anything. "Alright, lets start with two warm up laps around the field," he yelled, and kids began to start jogging.

I groaned and reluctantly started jogging alongside some people around the field. I noticed Asher up a little ways running at a pretty fast pace while I was moving at about the speed of a snail, lagging behind everyone. Honestly, it was embarrassing, but my body wasn't able to handle much more than I was giving it. All of a sudden, black spots started dancing around my vision, and next thing I knew, I had fallen over and blackness enveloped my vision completely.
