Rose found it really hard to concentrate in class, and break the habit of sneaking out to see Scorpius. The exact same thing happened to Scorpius. Eventually, their teachers had to seat them next to each other to regain their best students. That is, all the professors except Professor Binns. He looked extremely startled when he saw them sitting together, Scorpius's arm around Rose. "Mr. Malfoy, please unhand Miss Granger at once!" He said.

A quarter of the class burst out laughing, the rest lifted their heads from their books to see what was so funny. "Miss Granger, are you hurt? Or hexed? Would you like me to get Mr. Weasley for you?" Professor Binns said, floating over.

Rose shook her head, smiling. "Professor Binns, I'm not Miss Granger, I'm her daughter, Miss Weasley. And while Scorpius's last name is Malfoy, I'm sure you're thinking of his father, or perhaps his grandfather, not him."

Professor Binns looked slightly put out. "If you're sure, Miss Granger, ah, I mean Weasley."

Rose smiled. At least he hadn't insisted Albus take her to the Hospital Wing like last time. Albus had had to ask where it is, earning a questioning look from Professor Binns, who had said, "Mr. Potter, are you feeling alright? You and your friends, the Marauders, is it? Yes, you and your friends, have ended up in the Hospital Wing several times, and caused others to end up there as well." Poor Albus.

Once, though, it was different. "Miss Havendish, Mr. Malfoy, please control yourselves. I am aware of your budding romance, but please, keep it to yourselves." Professor Binns said.

Rose was confused. "Miss Havendish, sir?"

Professor Binns nodded, and then looked closer at her. "I see. I am sorry, Miss Granger. I mistook you for someone else.Your grandmother, perhaps."

Rose sat quite still for the rest of the class. After class, she asked Scorpius, "What do you think Professor Binns was talking about? My mother is a Muggle born."

Scorpius shrugged. "I think you should ask her, or check in the Library. Are you coming to the Quidditch match today?"

Rose sighed, and shrugged. "It's so confusing for me whenever you play Gryffindor. I know that Quidditch is important to you, really, but I am unsure whether to cheer for my own house or my boyfriend."

Scorpius chuckled. "You make it sound like you're betraying your house. You can cheer for your team, and just me. Not the rest of my team."

Rose shrugged. "Your teammates are nice."

Scorpius laughed. "Tell that to your Gryffindor captain. I swear she's either checking me out, or sizing me up for Azkaban."

Rose gasped. "Don't say things like that."

Scorpius nodded. "Sorry Rose. It's just that my grandfather was a known Death Eater, and so most of your Gryffindors assume I'll be one too."

Rose shook her head violently. "You'll never be like that, Scorpius. Never. I know you. And I know you'd never do something like that. And anyway, he's gone."

Scorpius sighed. "Not all of his followers are, Rose."

Rose bit her lip. "Worrying about whether Antonin Dolohov is going to come after a school full of trained children and teachers with a small band of new recruits is pure foolishness." Dolohov had escaped Azkaban a week ago.
