"Wow, you're really bad at this" Benny laughed. The ball was currently sitting on the ground behind. Benny had asked me to show him what I knew, so he gave me a bat and went to pitch. Let's just say it didn't end well. He had set it up to pitch to me, but when the ball came close to me and jumped back and dropped the bat. "Sorry im not much luck at this" I said and looked down while rubbing my toe in the sand. It sounds pathetic but I was actually embarrassing how bad I was. I guess he noticed my humiliation bc he stepped closer and looked me in the eye before saying, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that." He gave me a small smile and said "Besides, with such a great teacher like me, you'll be playing like a pro in no time." As he said this he slightly pushed my shoulder. I laughed as Benny picked up the bat and handed it to me. "First of all, you were holding the bat completely wrong." He stepped behind me, and putting his hands on my shoulders, he tilted my shoulders. "And step forward with your left foot so you're turned to the side" he said, almost whispering. Needless to stay, the butterflies in my stomach had a fit. Then he slipped his hand down to mine and positioned them around the bat like they should be. "And hold it up a little closer to your face." He whispered. Again. And it was hot. "There you go" Benny said. I stood there with the bat in my hand as he walked over to pitch again. "Yeah um one question, how do I swing?" I asked. "You know what, that might be a little helpful, I should probably show you" Benny walked back over to me and stood behind me. His arms wrapped around mine and his hands covered mine on the bat. "Alright so basically all you have to do is swing it like this." Benny showed me the movement of the bat a few times before going off to pitch. I swing a couple times, well, more then a couple times. Each swing ending in the ball flying over my should or to my side. After about the hundredth try, I finally heard he crack of the wood slamming into the fabric of the ball and sending it flying in the opposite direction. I dropped the bat along with my jaw as I saw the ball fall to the ground after soaring a few feet. I looked to Benny seeing his mouth was in a shocked smile. Before I knew it he was running towards me. He wrapped his arms around me in a hug and lifted me of the ground spinning me in a circle. I hugged him back and laughed into his shoulder. When he set me down, I found myself looking up into his eyes for what felt like hours, but in reality was only seconds. He stepped back and rubbed the back of his neck. "It's getting dark, we should get home." He said. "Alright" I agreed. We began to walk home, we got to Benny's house and I stopped. "Why'd you stop?" He asked, confused. I laughed in bewilderment, "um hello? Earth to Benny! This is your house!" I gestured to the home. "Well yeah I know, but... it's dark and I don't want you walking alone." He said looking down at with the cutest nervous smile ever. "Plus you barely know he neighborhood" he added. I smiled back at him and let him take my hand and lead me back home.
