Jodie's eyes grew huge when Cole gently put crossbow in her hand with a chocolate bar and a little book.

"Happy birthday," he smiled. Jodie found that every time Cole made her happy, he was actually even more happy than she was. She was very appreciative of his gifts. Something like that was no longer granted. Cole wasn't her father, and actually he wasn't really responsible for her. But he tried so hard to be a brother or even a father for her. And Jodie was also very happy to see this joyful glow on him. His whole face then seemed to shine like a sunrise, and he seemed happy like a child on Christmas morning, and that was only because he could give her joy.

I told you to you don't give me anything. She wanted to tell him through her eyes.

"You'll turn 14 only once, right? "He smiled and his eyes seemed to shine even more.

Jodie hugged him gently, and she was really happy that Cole was trying to make her life as comfortable as possible. She kissed him a lightly on the cheek, and Cole gently put his arms around her. This time she didn't complain. For a long time she wanted to be hugged as little as possible, as it always reminded her of her mother's hugs. But she wanted to show Cole how pleased she was with his gift and also, that she recognized how much effort he had put into it.

"But be careful with this, Daryl says that if you don't know how to do this, you can even hurt yourself," he gently reminded her when she released the hug.

She nodded and then looked at the book.

"I thought you could write down your thoughts, like a diary, you know? "he meant.

She nodded. She had never had a diary before, but now it might have been good to write down her thoughts to get rid of it.

"Okay, I have to go on tour, take care of you, yes? "He asked and gently brushed a strand of her red-brown hair behind her ear.

She nodded, smiling, Cole hesitated, smiled, and gently kissed her forehead.

"I'll be back soon. Enjoy your birthday," he said, and she nodded and squeezed his hand for a moment before he left the cell. Jodie now examined the crossbow and found that there was another arrow in a bracket. Perfect, so she knew how big the arrow was and what he had to look like, to work with the Crossbow. Smiling, she weighed the crossbow in her hand and looked at the trigger, and the mechanism seemed pretty simple to her. Now she just had to practice somewhere.

She left the cell after carefully hiding the crossbow. Roderick kept getting too close to her, and by now she trusted him enough to think that he would just steal things from her. Only Rick and Daryl owned a keychain so no one could lock their cell. Everyone could enter and even go through personal stuff. On the one hand, Jodie didn't like it, she liked to have her privacy, but on the other hand, it also served to be able to collect themselves in other cells in emergencies without any problems or to escape from the cell.

In the courtyard, she met Glenn, who was just preparing for a tour, and in one corner, she saw Daryl smoking a cigarette. And she came up to Glenn and plucked him

„Yes, what is it? "

Jodie made a sign like she was smoking a cigarette and then pointed at Glenn and the truck that Glenn and the others were going to drive later.

"Cigarettes? You want me to bring cigarettes? "Glenn asked a little irritated.

Jodie nodded.

"For you? Aren't you a little young for that? ", Glenn said, doubtful.

Jodie pointed at herself, shook her head, then pointed toward Daryl.

"For Daryl? ", Glenn realized and she nodded.
