John's POV:
It's been an entire summer since I graduated. An entire summer without... him. I'm packing my things before the drive to King's College and am almost done when my mom yells lunch. I walk downstairs and see my sisters, Mary and Martha sitting down and hear my brothers, Henry and James come stomping down he stairs. "Boys," my mom said with a small smile. "Please just sit down so we can eat." "Yes ma'am." As I sit down, I see my mom smile at me. "How are you, John?" She asked. "I'm fine mom... I've almost finished packing." I say with a small smile. Her smile widens. "That's great! We're so proud of you for going after what you want...." I give her a confused look. "You okay, mom?" I asked. "I'm fine sweetie... it's just that I can't believe you are finally going to college. Your father would have been proud." I fell my smile drop. "You know he wouldn't. I'm not going to study law and I like boys. He wouldn't be proud. He's better off dead." "John Laurens, don't you ever say that again! Your father would have understood eventually and with time he would have accepted it," She said angrily. I start yelling, "No, he wouldn't mom and you know it! He hated anyone who was different and not like him." I see my brothers and sisters staring at me with fear in their eyes. I sigh and get up. "I'm going to finish packing."—Time Skip—
John's POV:
I pull up to the dormitories and get out of the car. I look at my email for my dorm number 1776. What an odd number. I began my search and finally found the room. Just as I open the door, I hear someone yelling my name. "John!!!" I look you and see Peggy and her sisters, Angelica and Eliza. "Hey," I said as she ran up and gave me a hug. "I didn't know you guys were coming here, Pegs." She smirked. "We wanted it to be a surprise!" Angelica and Eliza finally reached me and said hey. "Are you guys rooming around here?" I asked. "Yeah, our dad brought us an apartment." In case you didn't know the sisters are super rich. I saw Angelica and Eliza start walking away. "Well, I need to get settled," I said. "Bye John!!" I hear Peggy yell as she ran after her sisters. I sigh. Maybe I'll have a cool roommate.
* 1 week later*
I'm in my History 101 class, we were learning about Lin-Manuel Miranda, when a knock is heard. I look up and see a man walk in with a hoodie. The teacher, Mr. Washington looked at the man with satisfaction. "Mr. Hamilton... Nice if you to join us." Hamilton?? Washington tells him to sit next to me. I look at the man as he comes to sit by me and I see it is Alexander, just not the Alexander I remember. He has dull eyes, bags under his eyes, and is dressed in all black. I see him pull out his headphones and lay his head down. I can't help but think... where is my Alex.
