Kaito and Kokichi's relationship has always confused Shuichi. He always assumed the two hated eachother, so when they becomes more affectionate than usual, the detective is left quite confused.
Also, Saimaki. (Aka, they're dating. I'm soft for this ship.)

Shuichi fidgeted in his seat as he watched the film. The whole "class" had decided to have a movie night and Maki, who was seated beside him, had suggested horror.
He was actually quite bored, as the film selection Monokuma had provided them were... subpar, and he felt his eyes drifting away from the screen. Maki was leaning on his shoulder, sipping her soda. Though her eyes were glued to the screen, it was obvious she was disinterested.
Everyone else seemed to not be paying attention, choosing to focus on anything else other than the movie. Himiko and Angie were not-so-subtly stealing all of Tenko's popcorn while she was distracted by talking to Rantaro. Miu and Kiibo were talking in the corner, well, from the looks of it, Miu was coming onto the robot. Kiyo, Tsumugi, Kaede, and Gonta were talking in their seats. Everyone besides Kiyo and Gonta looked uncomfortable.
At first he didn't spot Kaito and Kokichi, as they blend into the darkness fairly well, but a second glance left him very confused. Kokichi was straight up laying across Kaito's lap. No subtlety, no playfulness, no yelling. Just straight up affection.
Shuichi just stared for a few moments before nudging Maki a bit. The girl lifted her head from her shoulder, looking over at him. One gesture towards the two made Maki do a double take.
"What the hell are they doing?" She whispered, quiet enough so only the boy in front of her would hear.
The detective shrugged, "I've never seen them act so calm in each other's presence."
"Maybe..." Maki put her hand to her mouth, thinking. Shuichi cracking a small smile at the habit she had picked up from him, "Maybe they're just distracted by the movie?"
Nodding, Shuichi turned back towards the movie. He grimaced as he tried to become invested back into it. His girlfriend just settled back into her former position, letting out a content sigh.

Shuichi wasn't a morning person, opting to finish all this work at night. Therefore his sleeping habits aren't exactly amazing. Therefore he usually shows up to breakfast late. Maki wasn't any help, as she was also a night owl. The two usually stayed in bed hours after the morning announcement.
That morning was particularly slow. Shuichi had gotten up way later than usual, and Maki straight up refusing to get up. Sighing, the detective left with a promise of returning with coffee.
He left the dorm room, making his way to the cafeteria. After so long in the killing game, Monokuma had given up on motives. The bear probably hoped someone would get fed up and kill someone else. But the students had adapted pretty well to the isolation, forming relationships, friendships, routines. It wasn't like their enclosure was small anyways.
Opening the dining hall door quietly, Shuichi immediately noticed how empty it was. He looked at the clock and realized it was almost two PM. Another thing he noticed right afterwards was Kokichi and Kaito's presence.
The two were talking, but Kokichi had his fingers intertwined with Kaito's. It was rather unusual for the two to have a normal conversation, and holding hands always seemed out of the question. Shuichi recalled once when Kiibo suggested the only way for them to get along was to suck it up and hold hands. Kaito had immediately shouted no and Kokichi just gave the robot an unamused look.

FanfictionI'm bored and I decided, why not make a one shot book? I'll do most ships, and if I feel uncomfortable writing them romantically, I'll write them platonically. Anyways, just request something. I don't do smut, I suck at that.
