Kaede tapped her fingers against the steering wheel while Rantaro glared at the map.

"Is this Bakers road?" He asked.

The pianist leaned forward in her seat, trying to read the sign in front of them.

Rantaro had a meeting scheduled with his travel group that day, and neither of the two knew where it was. They had been given a name and  very vague directions. Now they were lost with no reception and a very big, very confusing map Kaede found in her glove compartment.

"No, this is Country Road." The girl responded, swiveling her head towards her boyfriend.

He sighed deeply, rubbing the bridge of his nose, "Why can they never give us a direct address?"

"It's an adventure!" Kaede smiled, nudging Rantaro with her elbow. The light in front of them turned green, and Kaede turned left.

"No!" Rantaro exclaimed, "I think we were supposed to turn right there."

Kaede pulled onto the side of the road, "Let me see that!"

She ripped the map out of his hands, scanning it quickly. "Where are we?"

Rantaro put his hands up, "That's what ove been trying to figure put for the past half an hour!"

"At this point, we aren't gonna make it to you travel meeting."

"Okay." Rantaro shrugged, "I don't care."

Kaede sighed, "Yes you do, don't lie for my sake."

The pianist pulled back onto the road. They drove in silence for a while, Rantaro still scanning the map. They suddenly came upon a cafe.

"Hey," Kaede pointed, "let's stop here and get directions."

Rantaro nodded, "And maybe something to eat."

She pulled into the parking lot and they both stepped out of the car. Rantaro held the door for Laede as she walked in and they were immediately greeted by the hostess.

"How many people?"

Kaede pointed from her to Rantaro, "Just us two."

She smiled and picked up two menus, "Follow me."

They were led to a small booth at the back of the restaurant.

"I'm seriously fed up with this traveling group." Rantaro sighed.

Kaede giggled, placing her hand on his and squeezing gently, "We can find you another traveling group." She smiled, "I'm sure Kaito and Shuichi would follow you out. Kaito's been complaining about the group for months."

Rantaro nodded, "Yeah, I guess you're right."

The two sat in silence for a while until their waitress came.

"I'm Kirumi Tojo, I'll be your waitress today." She pulled out a notepad, "Can I start you out with something to drink?"

Rantaro and Kaede drive in silence. Rantaro had taken the wheel, as the other wasn't comfortable driving in the dark. The only noise was the radio playing quietly in the background.

The adventurer hummed along to the music and turned towards the nearby park. Kaede, who had had her head laying against the window for a while, perked up.

"Isn't my house that way?" She asked, pointing behind them.

"Well, as an apology for making you drive all that way, let's make a date out of it." Rantaro smiled at her, "We ate, and now were going to the park to stargaze."

Kaede poked his arm teasingly, "Are you actually listening to Kaito's advice?"

The other shrugged, "Well, he did manage to score a date with Oma, and that's no easy feat."

"You're not wrong."

The avacado boy parked the car and they both got out. The playground sat empty and it was eerily quiet. Some might be creeped out in this kind of mood, but it was Kaede's favorite. Despite being loud and outspoken, she got overstimulated pretty easily.

Rantaro took her hand and brought her to the swing set. They sat down on swings next to eachother and gazed up at the sky.

"Hey Rantaro?" Kaede whispered, not wanting to break the quiet atmosphere.

He looked over at her, "Yeah?"

She giggled, quietly, "I bet I can swing than you."

She kicked off the ground and pumped her legs like an eager child.

"Oh, you're on."

Rantaro copied her movements, swinging high into the air. The entire swing set lurched as the two teens swung back and forth. The silence was suddenly filled with laughter and metal creaking.

The adventurer found himself admiring the blonde girl for a moment.

"Hey, you're slacking, Rantaro!"

He laughed, "Sorry!"
