Everything seemed to be fine, but they were obviously searching for me, and I just know Avice saw me. And there is no doubt in my mind that Jaymes saw me running just now. I darted away, passing through the chamber corridor. I could hear them running in my direction. I frantically search for a place to hide. I see the Chamber, yet I don't really feel great going in there anymore. Rushing past it, near the end of the corridor, maids gather around. I feel my eyes grow wide and I ran back the other way to be greeted by Jaymes and the royal guards sprinting for me.
The world seemed to stop just for a moment, enough for me to figure out what I am to do. I hear my breath come out slow as the stomping came louder. I watch with the only thing I can move. My eyes, looking and waiting for my perfect moment. My decision was to surrender myself.
That didn't work-
Not even a little-
I flew toward the guard and Jaymes gave me a peculiar exression, yet opened his arms. I'm guessing for an embrace that I might never get again. Seeing his face as I twist away from his almost stopped me in my tracks. The other guards didn't seem as pleased as him to see me. I guess they must've thought another little nuisance princess is making another stupid choice. Making my quick decision, I leapt off my feet, letting my senses make my decision for me. I ran and then entered my beginning or end.
I rushed into the Chamber.
I hear Jaymes' shriek and run toward the cell door. I grab the key off the wall and lock it. The only key to this room, other than the skeleton key that Avice lost as soon as she became Queen. Jaymes' pounds on the door, howling my name as he roars out for anyone to help him. The door is metal and made of steel, they couldn't break the door even if they tried.
I sat watching them bang against the door, as I lowered myself to the ground and sat with my back against the wall.
"They look fun, huh Princess?" I look to my side and the man of the woods stood above me. He didn't seem to terrorize, and for another second, the world stopped, on him looking at me and offering a hand. A smirk spread across his and my face, not an awful one, just a genuine smile. His friendly eyes send a familiar spark straight through me and I watch and wait for something to happen.
The world came back and Jaymes slammed once on the door, glancing through the bars at the top. The slam was enough to make me jump to my feet. Jaymes' eyes look betrayed. It was hard to look into them, but I did anyway. His grey eyes shine with tears, not the loving and sweetness of Jaymes I know. This side of him, I had never seen. His posture is alert and his body is trembling.
"Ayeth, what are you doing?!" Jaymes practically screams. I look at him and muster up my courage, while everyone else piles over.
"I'll come out, if he does," I yell louder than everyone else so they can listen. They all went quiet after that. All the guards stare to me, and I turned around to see the wood boy staring at me too.
"Ayeth, I have no problem with you staying there," Avice says, ushering them to leave me be. But the guards and Jaymes all have a better relationship with me. They don't leave. These guards have seen over me since I was born and I, have a better relationship. I wouldn't call it a friendship, but it's most definitely mutual.
Jaymes discussed something with the guards and looked back at me.
"Unlock him, and unlock yourself," Jaymes says, his voice breaking a little.
"What?!" Avice screams and comes over, pushing Jaymes and grabbing the bars so close to her face. The rusty and crusty bar is on her lip. "Listen to me, you ungrateful twirp. You need to come out or stay in, that monster is staying in. Are you?" Avice is yelling and her spit is all over the door and the bars. The guards had to physically drag her away.
I look between the boy of the woodlands and Jaymes. I turn and unlock him and then unlock myself. Once the door opened, everyone stepped back except for Jaymes, who stepped between myself and the woodland soldier and escorted us to my room.
