"Aren't you attending the wedding?" Jeongguk, one day overhears Min hyung talking to warrior Kim.
He hears a frustrated answer from the other, "I can't go back there and you know that!"
"The princess misses you, Taehyung, she wants you to come back."
There's a look of conflict in the noble's face as Taehyung says,
"But my family does not, so please, just tell her I wish her the best with you."
Jeongguk turns away and retreats to his room before he is able to hear:
"When are you going to tell Jeongguk of your lineage?"
"What makes you think I'll ever do that?" Taehyung scoffs before his eyes soften when met with the noble's gaze.
"Take care of her, yeah?" He chokes up, "Take care of Jimin or I'll personally go back and reduce you to smithereens."
That's the last time he ever saw the oldest noble in the Min family. Taehyung recalls this very moment because after this, was the time Jeongguk started to grow older – wiser and begrudgingly – more mature.
And after that, as the leaves fall from their branches, so did he.
