Happy new year everyone! I wish you the best on this starting year! Whatever you wish for, whatever your dreams are, whatever your goals are, I wish you the best.
Let's skip resolutions!
This year no resolution for me. I decided to skip resolutions to set up my goals and dreams for 2020. For me, there is a huge difference between resolutions and goals. A Resolution is something you think of. A Goal is something you need to achieve. So choose your team, guys. Team thinking or team achievement? Well, that's easy for me. Team achievement! I am so bored of thinking of things I could do that I finally haven't done. I would love to achieve something. I would like to look at 2020 and see what I have done so far to start in 2021. I don't know. Maybe, because it's a new decade. It's pushing. But I'm all into achievements!
Because a year is full of 365 days of distraction, setting up goals gives you a guideline. You know what you're up to, which path you need to follow. It's such a relief to know where you're going to. So I decided to use this tool called a "goals and dreams mood board" for 2020.
Why is it important to make "goals and dreams mood board"?
Some people say that this is linked to the law of attraction. Visualizing things you want helps you to think of them. The more you think of something the more you attract it to you.
I do think that visualizing things every single day helps you to keep your goals in mind and avoid any distractions. It keeps you focus and motivated. This makes your decisions easy to make. Do you guys remember the struggle of making digital content (cf. "Mo followers, Mo problems" part)? Yes, it's hard though to know what content you should post on social media. The struggle is all about what you want, what you can post, what people like, what people would like to see, what you think people would like to see, and what you finally post. So this tool is definitely an asset for me.
I made a "goals and dreams mood board" to set up my digital strategy for the starting year.

This is my digital "goals and dreams mood board" for 2020. What do you think? Goals are for what I have to achieve and dreams for what I wish for. Why do I make a difference between them? Goals are what I know I could achieve. Dreams are what I wish for because there are so many things involved in the attempt of achieving them: work life, financial means, time, external help... Do you guys have any clue of what am I up to?
Well, let me explain each picture from left to the right, from top to bottom.
The first picture (top left) represents a "Calanque" of Marseille, the city of France. I wish I could push any further the discovery of unexpected places in the Parisian area but also in France. Let's see if I will be able to travel to France and take great pictures as well. Will doesn't make the means. So we'll see. It's hard to wander the streets by yourself to find unexpected places. It takes a lot of time...As it is to find someone to photograph you anywhere you go or to take pictures by yourself from every angle. (#goalsanddreams)
The second picture (bottom left) is a picture of Gabrielle Caunesil Pozzoli. I admire her natural glow makeup in this picture. I wish I could take a step into makeup. You know my love for makeup-free pictures. I love makeup but I just wear makeup if I have to. Otherwise, I'd rather go without any makeup on. I would love to propose some simple easy makeup looks. By simple, I really mean simple. You know what am I referring to. I am so over this overdose of makeup on social media. Women like me don't recognize themselves in this amount of makeup products on the skin displayed by most of the influencers online. I guess the full-face coverage is just not my type. I wish I could be an alternative to that. (dreams for 2020)
The third picture (top middle) is there to remind me to embrace my feminine, elegant, and glam style. This is something I haven't really shown yet. And this part is actually a big part of myself. I don't know maybe I was afraid of how I will be perceived. It's hard 'cause people can be judgmental. But the more I am myself, the more I feel good and the better my pictures are. There is no secret. Like I said earlier, you have to try different sides of yourself to know which one is the best for you. (#goalsfor2020)
The fourth picture (bottom middle) reflects a home interior. Nope, this is not my "home interior decor", sorry. I wish It was. I am strongly thinking to launch a home interior account. There are not many French influencers with both a fashion/personal account and a home account. They have a "lifestyle" account but nothing about home interior??? Lifestyle means life. Home is at the heart of life. They might spend most of their time traveling... But for "regular" people, their home is where they spend a certain part of their free time. I wish I could share inspirations, tips, recipes, and products. (#dreamsfor2020)
The fifth picture is a flat lay of food( top right). Yes, in this new year we are going to discover new "sweet spots" (Check my highlights on my Instagram account @affordablemeetsfashionable). I am very excited about this. I am so greedy. I love pastries. I am so happy about this. (#goals)
The sixth picture showed a magical sunset to impersonate moments of life. City pictures are great but videos are better. They give you this feeling. They make you feel like you were there while you weren't. For me, that's one of the best ways of sharing, to bring you with me, to make you guys feel you were with me. I am working on the format of the videos I am planning to post. I have captured some Parisian moments for the last couple of years as I am a Parisian lover. I can't wait to share them online. (#goalsfor2020)
And you, what are your goals and dreams for 2020? If you have read this part, let me know in the comments.
Once again, Happy new year!
