Torment (Tomura x Deku x Overhaul)

__________Midoriya POV__________

After Shigaraki left, I ran into Uraraka and Tsu and informed them about everything that had happened; from there, we reported the incident, and the shopping mall was temporarily closed. The heroes and police in the area conducted a massive sweep... but they couldn't find the villain. And after the other members of our class were interviewed, they were sent home.

Later that day, I was brought to the police station for further questioning by Mr. Tsukauchi, a detective who was currently investigating the League of Villains. I told him everything I could about Shigaraki's appearance and the conversation we had. After my report, the two of us ran into All Might just as I was about to head home.

"Young Midoriya! Tsukauchi!" He called to us, walking out of the shadows of one of the nearby buildings. It was already dark by the time we'd finished my interview, so the street lights had since been turned on to illuminate the alleyways and streets that lined the city.

My eyes widened as All Might became visible. "All Might! But how?" I asked running over to the hero. As I stopped in front of him he gave me a small pat on the head, ruffling my green curls.

"I needed to talk to him anyway," Tsukauchi said, walking up behind me. All Might looked down at me again with his strikingly blue eyes and sighed.

"What a relief, I'm so glad you're okay," the hero began. "I'm sorry I couldn't be there to protect you and the others," he added regretfully.

"It's fine," I replied almost immediately, when I remembered Shigaraki's face and looked down. As I recalled our conversation, all I could think of was how powerless I was against him, and how frustrating it felt. "Um... All Might?"

"Yeah what is it?"

"Do you ever have times... when you can't save all the people that you want to?" I asked looking back up to face him. He looked a bit taken aback before responding.

He sighed. "Yes I do, and often." He said truthfully, with a hint of regret still laced in his words. I continued staring at him as he spoke. Ever since I was little, I looked up to All Might, and even at that moment, I still did, even if we were as close as friends, even if I knew his secrets, and even if I knew his weaknesses. But now, I'd met someone, someone who didn't look up to All Might, who didn't see him as anything more than an enemy. Someone who wanted to kill All Might, my opposite, Tomura Shigaraki.

Looking up, All Might continued. "Someone could be injured and calling out for my help anywhere in the world right now, and I would never know about it. I know it's frustrating, but we're only human, there will always be people beyond our reach that we can't protect..." He said, yet I still felt discouraged. "But that's all the more reason to stand tall and smile... So that the symbol of justice is always there, even when I can't be. A flicker in people's hearts whether they be a hero or a villain..." He added proudly. A hero, or a villain? I thought to myself, still unsure.

After talking with All Might and Tsukauchi, I felt a bit better, and my mom and I were escorted home by a police officer. As I sat in the back seat of the car, all I could think about was Shigaraki. He was cautious during our meeting, almost always keeping a hand on me to use as leverage, but he was strangely casual as well. Spare the fact that he was a villain(and the 'accidental' choking), and he talked to me as any normal person would, he asked questions, he answered questions, and we even ate together.

And he held my hand...

I began blushing almost immediately and I tried my best to vanquish the thought from my mind. It was just to make sure I didn't run away! Yeah, that's it! That's all it was! I mean it's not like a villain like him would ever want to hold the hand of a future hero in training, and one who looked up to All Might no less... right? Shaking my head, I looked out the car's window and watched as we passed by rows of houses and buildings until we finally arrived at our apartment complex.

Now that our intense first semester at U.A High was over, me and my classmates were out for summer vacation, but that didn't mean we had time to relax. We had a training camp in the woods coming up, and I wanted to be as prepared as possible.

After a short workout routine with some weights, I clicked on the All Might video I would always used to replay as a child. "Fear not citizens, hope has arrived! Because I am here!" All Might would declare in the video. "Thanks All Might..." I muttered. There are times I still can't believe this is my life... That the number one hero in the world chose to pass his quirk, One For All, onto me... I thought to myself, looking down at my scarred arms. Thinking about All Might also caused me to think of him as well.

It had been several days since the incident, and while I was still pretty shaken, I wasn't as worried about Shigaraki... For the most part, I didn't even consider the villain would ever think of coming back to see me so soon... that was until he showed up at my apartment.

Mom had gone out just a few minutes earlier, probably to do some shopping, when I heard a knock at the door. Not even thinking of checking the peephole, I opened it to find Tomura Shigaraki standing there, hands in his pockets, staring back at me through his messy hair. "Huh?!" I said alarmed. Before I could even think of shutting the door or activating full cowling, he casually walked into my apartment, pushed me aside, and shut the door. A long moment came and went where neither of us said anything.

As I stood there, dumbfounded, he looked to me again and lowered his hood. "Now after I went through all this trouble to get here, you can't even manage a 'hello'?" He spat, his red eyes fixated on me.

Annnnnnnnd a new chapter is out!! Sorry for the wait tho... But I rly like writing this book so I'll try and get meself on a schedule for publishing chapters regularly!

SPOILERS AHEAD FOR THE ENDING OF HUNTER X HUNTER:

I decided to turn on the ending montage for Hunter x Hunter so that when the clock hit 12:00 Ging would deliver his legendary quote:

I also balled my eyes out again because of that shot with Meruem and Komugi's dead bodies holding hands... LIKE SERIOUSLY THEY ARE MY ULTIMATE OTP NO ONE CAN CHANGE MY MIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(Don't mind me I'm just gonna go cry again)
