(A/N: Jeez, I'm bad at updating frequently. Well, at least you get some nice Saiouma 'fluff' with a long chapter. ;)))
Shuichi's P.O.V
Me and Kokichi kept meeting up at garden everyday after that. Sometimes needing to cancel our meetings because of Kokichi's chores or my studies.
Over the month, we grew closer and closer with each other. Kokichi taught me how to play fun games and stuff, and I taught him how to draw when he wanted. Along how to read and write, which he had a basic grasp on now. He never got a proper education, because of we're he came from. His mom could afford it. So if he really needed help with reading or writing, I'd teach him what he needed to know. Though he found it 'super boring!' in his words.
With December coming to an end, the Christmas Ball seemed to grow nearer. The castle holds a party every Christmas Eve, inviting Kings and Queens from everywhere, as well as their children. It was enjoyable, as long as I stayed away from My Uncle. Most of the time I'd stay in the ball room for an hour or so, than leave to my room for the rest of the night. Not wanting to get mixed up in all the dancing. I never really liked it anyway, having to dance with complete strangers and stuff. Makes me kind of uncomfortable...
Once again, me and Kokichi met up. Except this time in the library. It got to cold outside, so we agreed to meet inside today. It was the day before the ball, and that most likely meant me and Kokichi couldn't meet again tomorrow. So we enjoyed the time we had right now.
"I suppose you will be working on the night of the ball, huh?" I said to Kokichi. We were sketching and coloring on some pieces of paper. He didn't look up from his paper, and responded with, "Probably, which is really boring~! I'd rather be at the party, or anywhere else. As long as I don't have to do any of the work." He continued coloring with his crayons, "And I'm guessing you're going to be at the actual ball and stuff. Gasp is my Shumai gonna be having fun with out me?!" He acted super offended to the idea.
At this point, he's given me so many nick names, I can't even count them all. I've grown used to them by now, and don't bother to stop him anymore. "I mean, I guess. I only ever stay in the ball room for an hour. Than leave before the dancing starts, I'm kind of bad at it. I don't really like to socialize with random guests, so..." I admitted to him.
"You? Bad at dancing?! No way~!" Kokichi joked. I gave him a little nudge in the shoulder with mine. Getting back at him for his sarcastic comment. I looked to the clock on the library wall. Time to get going...
Sadly, I gathered my papers and pencils, and stood up from the table. "Well, I should get going." I walked towards the libraries door, and looked back at him. "Bye Kokichi." I gave him a soft, friendly smile as I exited the room. I heard a muffled. "Bye, I guess..." coming from Kokichi.
I feel like this was one of the first times he sound genuinely sad, huh. When he wasn't exaggerating his feeling of course. It hurt me a bit. Maybe the fact he won't see me tomorrow really got him. I'm sure he'll be fine though, right?
Kokichi's P.O.V
"Bye, I guess..." It hurt me to know I wouldn't see Shuichi tomorrow. He was the only thing I really cared for here, besides Kirumi of course~ Along with the thought he'll be talking to other people, too. It made me weirdly jealous, but I can deal with it, right? It's not like he'll leave me for someone else he might meet. It hasn't happened in the past according to him, so what are the chances of it being any different this year?
Then, a thought hit me. Something rather genius I'd say~! Shuichi said he only stays in the ball room before the music starts playing, right? So he doesn't do anything else the rest of the night, if I'm correct. This plan should work perfectly, nishishi~
