LISA'S POV

"You're graduating in a few months, you should at least show you're mature enough to handle the company," Dad continued lecturing while I purposely annoy him by eating nonchalantly.

Mom really takes her time on learning new dishes each week, the only thing that makes family dinners tolerable for me.

"I invited the Parks for our dinner next week," Mom informed me while wiping the side of her mouth with a napkin, an excited smile forming on her face, "Have you talked to Rosé?"

I shook my head, "I've been busy since she moved in her unit."

"You should spend more time with her. She's a nice girl Lisa, I'm sure you'll learn a lot from her," Dad points out.

"Yeah, maybe when I have time—"

"I'm sure you can make some time tomorrow," he says slowly, making sure to emphasize each word.

I dropped my utensils, lifting my gaze to him, "Alright, my girlfriend and I will drop by her place tomorrow."

"Lisa!" both of them scolded me.

This is bullshit. I should've skipped family dinner this week, or just stop at all. It always end up like this anyways, both of them scolding me like I'm a child who did something terrible.

I seldom bring up Jennie in front of them because it's either they purposely ignore it whenever I do, or say some bullshit like how she's probably after my money.

If they only knew she's Jennie Kim, the heir of one of their biggest clients.

It's a good thing they didn't want to meet her. I wouldn't want Jennie to deal with my fucked up family, at least not now when both our families will be against our relationship.

My parents obviously wants me to end up with their business partner's daughter, Rosé. Our families have been good friends for so long, and so are we, until she decided to study abroad.

She was my first kiss, but that was before Jennie came into my life.

"You're not bringing that girl near Rosé," Dad angrily slammed his hand on the table.

"Don't talk to her like that!" I said, equally angry.

"Then don't ever bring her up again in this discussion!"

"Fine," I glared at him as I stood.

"Sit down Lisa," Mom calmly said.

"I'm leaving."

I turned my back to them, ready to leave when I heard my father speak again.

"That girl had your head messed up. You're wasting your time on her."

"You know nothing, Dad," I snapped back before walking out.

I pulled out my phone from my pocket once I slipped inside my car.

I sighed as I pressed the caller ID My Jennie.

"Hi baby, how's family dinner?" her sweet voice immediately calmed me.

"The usual," I answered, not wanting to go into details, "Where are you?"

"On my way home, to my unit, not my parent's. Anyways, I went out with Jisoo and Nayeon tonight. Irene stood us up last minute, I'm guessing she's hanging out with her boyfriend right now, that bitch," she ranted and I could imagine her annoyed face with her nose scrunched up, my lips curled up into a smile.
