Chapter - 5

Surya's pov

"Ok mom, I will take it from here" I said as I moved towards the girl. Even by looking at her back I could tell that she is a beauty. But I don't care about it. Even if she is miss universe I would still say no. This meeting is just to console my mom as I can't watch her being sad.

My mobile notified its presence just when I was few steps away from her. The call was from Jack. He is one of my customer from USA. I answered the call immediately.

"What? " I was really shocked about the news he said. Jack said there are some problem in custom clearing the goods we sent. Seems like I have to be there in person.

See, I already said you marriage is a problem. Here I am not even married, just by speaking about it brought me problems.

After the call with Jack, I called my friend who is working in a travel agency to book me a ticket for USA in the next possible plane.I had no time to look for my parents and explain them my situation. So I decided to call my mom later, as I made my way out of the hall.

Thank god my parent's place was on the way to airport. So I could grab my things from there. I reached the airport just in time. I hurriedly exchanged my boarding pass and boarded the plane.

Once in plane I remembered that I have not informed my parents, and called my mom. she picked up the call immediately like she is waiting for me to call

"Hello, Surya, Where are you kanna, I was searching for you this whole time" came her worried voice on other side, as soon as she picked up the call. I should have informed her before, I thought

"Sorry Amma I was in a hurry that I could not find time to search you. Right now I am heading to USA as I had some important business to attend there"

" What happened? What is so important that you left without informing? And, Did you meet the girl? What do you think about her? " she bombard me with her questions.

Oh shit....I totally forgot about the girl this whole time. If I say that I didn't meet her then mom will kill me.

"Ahh......yes mom, I did" I lied.
What did you guys talk about? Do you like eachother?" She questioned again.

Oops!!! I didn't see that coming.
"Thattt...mommmm....by meet.. I mean...I saw her from distant, but, before I went to talk to her, I got my call and was out" I lied again

"Ohhhhhh.......then, how do you think she looks, Is she beautiful like I said? If you.........go..........for...... you" My mom's words were blocked by the flight attendant. she asked me to switch off my mobile as the flight is gonna take off.

On this side my mom is asking me about what she should do. With the words I heard, I thought she is asking about the religious trip that she planning. I was in a hurry, so I hung the call with the words "Do as you wish mom" without knowing how these words are going to change my life.

"Finallyyyy" I heaved a long sigh of relief as I stepped out of airport. Flights are really tiring. I fished the mobile out of my pocket and called my mom.

"Hi mom" I said once she picked the call.

"Hi, Have you reached safely" my mom asked "Yes mom, just now I came out of airport" I replied.

Suddenly I remembered her plans "So what about your plans, How is it going? " I asked her.

"Things are going smoothly. Don't worry, I will send you the details once everything is fixed" my mom said enthusiastically.

"Ok kanna, take care of yourself and have your meals properly" its my mom again.

"Ok mom, I will call you once I am free. Take care, bye" I said as I hung up the call.

A month passed just like that. I was really busy with my work as I get no time to call my parents. I just don't wanna disturb their trip so I decided to not call them during the night also. In between, one day I received a text from my father with a name 'Maadhuri' followed with a mobile number. I thought it to be their tour guide's number. And another day he texted me to know the date I would return.

I was preparing to return by tomorrow. It took me one full month to solve all those problems. The day went smoothly as I packed my things and went shopping to get a gift to my mom and dad.

Third person pov

"Why are you taking things so fast Sumathi. Wait for him to come back. It is his marriage and he has every right to enjoy each and every moment" he said

" I know my son better than you. We made him accept this marriage after a lot of struggle. I just don't want him to change his mind again" Sumathi, Surya's mother said.

"Ok, do as you wish" said his father as he continued his work of applying turmeric in the corners of invitations......invitation, that holds the date after a week of Surya's return. With his name printed in place of groom's name.
