You bop your head to the music pumping through your headphones, forgetting about the world. Only five more minutes until you can leave work, then your three days off. You already had all your stuff packed away, resulting in you blankly staring at the mini fridge in your work room, looking for anything to quickly take. Although you were mostly using it as a task that you can do while listening to music. As your back begins to ache, you get out of your crouched position and stretch. The moment after you close the fridge door, two strong hands wrap around your waist tightly and lift you into the air.
"AH!"
You quickly rip away your headphones and rest them around your neck, then look down to see who scared the living geesus out of you.
Josh, of course. Josh with the widest, most stupid grin on his face. Unsurprising. What's even more unsurprising is that Tyler is right beside him, hunched over laughing.
"Y-You shoulda seen the look on your face!" Tyler gasps out in between laughs.
"Yeah, ha ha, really funny. Josh, put me down before I kick you," you say sarcastically.
"Okay, okay! Please don't kick me..." he mostly mumbles before returning you to the ground.
You chuckle at their antics, the anger quickly subsiding.
"You're off work right? Or did we come a little too early?" Josh asks, wandering around the room and looking at the little decorations you have.
"Yeah, I'm free."
You stare at Josh continuing to saunter aimlessly around the room, making sure he didn't break a random figurine or anything like that. That is, until your eyes fall on Tyler marvelling at your beat machine.
"Wow... How did you even afford this?" Tyler asks, practically giving the beat machine heart eyes.
"I saved four entire paychecks," you answered proudly, thinking back to the time you almost got evicted for missing two months of rent for your apartment.
"How'd you survive two months without buying anything?" Josh asks. "We have to buy groceries at least every two weeks."
"I stole all of your food and almost got evicted from my apartment," you reply blankly, acting like it's not an insane thing to almost get evicted from your apartment for a beat machine.
Josh's mouth is slightly agape, not thinking you would do such a thing.
"I would've done the same." Tyler shrugs indifferently. "Can we go now?"

You adjust yourself in your pajamas, Tyler and Josh's couch proving to be slightly uncomfortable. Every Friday when you get off work is a mandatory Mario Kart tournament and movie night, which usually turns into a movie binge which almost always results in you sleeping over at the boys' place. You decided to opt out on the tournament due to you being pretty tired, so you just kept score. Tyler was in the lead by two and Josh was trying his hardest to catch up; his hair showed that focus. It was combed through and stroked with his hand so many times it was beyond just disheveled. It was honestly so adorable to see them so focused on something so small.
No.
You can't think like that, Y/N. The scenarios have to stop, the not-so platonic thoughts have to end, too, you berate yourself, just as you had done so many times in the past. Why can't you just grasp that no matter if you get into a relationship with Josh or Tyler it wouldn't work out? Everything is fine how it is now and it's better off like it is now. Just grasp that.
The trumpets of someone winning sound off and break you from your thoughts. Both of the boys look back at you, Josh with a big cheesy grin and Tyler cutely pouting-
Y/N, stop.
You shake your head slightly and mark down Josh's win.
"So you weren't paying attention!" Tyler yells accusatorially, you getting immediately confused.
"We literally paused, talked about how you weren't paying attention, and planned the reverse reaction just to prove you weren't paying attention. Tyler won, I lost," Josh explained. "What were you thinking about?"
"Nothing," you dismiss hurriedly.
"C'mon, Y/N! You never opt out of the Mario tournament, so something is obviously bothering-" Tyler expressed before getting cut off by his counter part.
"Is it about a guy?" Josh says, his tone quickly becoming worried.
Guys, actually. You and Tyler.
"No, of course not," you lie straight through your teeth.
The boys glance at each other, and you could see they were skeptical about your answer. Tyler and Josh knew you far too well for them to dismiss this so quickly.
"Is it the radio host?" Tyler ask.
"Ew, no, he's not on TV for a reason," you say, referring to his... lacking looks.
The both of them looked down, trying to find to find another male in your life that there was a chance in hell you liked.
"Is it a girl..?" Josh asked as a last measure, running out of male possibilities.
"No, Joshua," you sighed. At least they haven't asked if it was the other guy in the room yet.
"Huh..." they both say in sync.
"Nothing important is on my mind! Tyler won so he gets the Oreos and free Taco Bell tomorrow," you say, tossing Tyler the Oreos and trying desperately to change the topic. "Now Josh, find a good movie while I get other snacks."
Tyler immediately opened the pack of Oreos and stuffed a bunch in his mouth, letting out a content sigh. You smiled at his childish actions before getting up and raiding their fridge. It seemed as though you had managed to drop the subject for now.
You place the soda on the counter and start looking for other things before a voice startles you.
"Is it Tyler?"
You quickly look up and see Josh leaning against the wall with his arms crossed, giving you his puppy dog eyes.
Half of it...
"No, Josh. There is no guy distracting me, alright?" you lie again, looking back into the fridge. You know that making eye contact could give away the fact that you were being far from truthful.
"Alright, just making sure," he states softly before you hear him walk back to the couch.
If it wasn't for your lying capabilities, you don't know where you'd be...
