You return to the living room soon after, balancing a hot bowl of microwaved popcorn and a large bag of Skittles in your hands. Josh glances over at you briefly, obviously still concerned about what had been bothering you earlier, but you're glad he doesn't bring it back up; the last thing you need is for Tyler to start questioning you too.

"So, what movie is it gonna be tonight?" you ask, watching Tyler stuff another Oreo into his mouth, seeing the crumbs slowly waste down that you'll probably have to clean up.. If you remember.

Josh turns back to face you, a smile spread across his face. "Well, I figured something scary might be fun, so I decided to go with a classic and-"

"We're watching The Exorcist!" Tyler interrupts excitedly.

You roll your eyes and grin at your friends' enthusiasm. "Sounds good," you say as you set the food down on the coffee table in front of the couch. You flop down in the space between Tyler and Josh, stretching your legs to rest on the table. Both of the boys hold one of your hands (Tyler on the left and Josh on the right), the way they always do.

As Josh begins the movie, you can't help but smile contentedly. Regardless of any mixed up emotions from earlier, you allow yourself to forget about it in the moment, because things are how they should be. Things felt okay for once.

The movie was only about halfway through by the time it turned midnight. Typically, you would still be wide awake by now, but a long day at work had completely drained you. Despite the fairly horrifying movie playing, you can feel your head begin to drop to the side and lean against Tyler's shoulder, your eyes already closed. As you hear a scream and suspenseful music stop short you assume that somebody must have paused it.

"I think Y/N's asleep," Josh's voice lowly hisses to Tyler.

Just barely, you feel Tyler's arm move, trying to make you more comfortable. You hear his voice, but it's just quiet enough that you can't make out what he says in your tired state.

It was almost impossible to gauge how much time had passed, but the feeling of shaky movement causes you to wearily open your eyes. It's dark except small devices like digital clocks lighting up small areas of the apartment and you can tell somebody is carrying you through the hallway. Although you were half asleep, you tilt your head up slightly and peer up at Tyler, slowly beginning to realize what's going on. Deciding against saying anything, you close your eyes again and wait for Tyler to set you down somewhere, however you're too tired to figure out, or let alone assume, where.

Soon enough you're being laid down in what you assume is Tyler's bed. "Ty? What're you doing?" you manage to hoarsely whisper out.

"You can take my bed for tonight, you need the proper rest," he answers. "I'm okay with sleeping on the couch."

Too tired to argue, you lean your head back onto the pillow. Before falling asleep, you're dimly aware of Josh coming in and giving you a hoodie to wear. You gratefully take the soft black material and slip it over your t-shirt.

"Goodnight Y/N," sweetly whispers Tyler, followed by a "See you in the morning, sunshine," from Josh.

You fall asleep faster than you have in a long, long time.

Sunlight spills through the bedroom window, slowly waking you up. You're disoriented at first, and you try to recollect everything from the night before. Why the hell am I in Tyler's bed? And why am I wearing one of Josh's hoodies? you ask yourself frantically, looking at what you're wearing.

Memories of Tyler carrying you here last night suddenly hit you, and your growing panic subsides. Now the question is where your best friends had gotten off to. You stand up and stretch, attempting to get the stiffness out of your joints.

You walk out to the living room, greeted with the sight of Tyler and Josh on the couch eating cereal. They lift their heads in unison at the sound of your footsteps.

"Morning, sleeping beauty," Tyler teases. "Nice to see you."

You roll your eyes at this, although your heart skipped a beat at the word 'beauty'. Get it together, Y/N. Plenty of people say sleeping beauty all the time. You can't keep thinking like this.

Josh looks you up and down quickly before saying, "I gotta admit, Y/N, you look pretty cute in that hoodie."

It's all you can do to not make direct eye contact, as you can feel the heat rising to your cheeks. But out of the corner of your eye, you could swear you saw Tyler glare at Josh briefly before turning back to his cereal.

You shrug it off. "So, um, did you two sleep okay? You really didn't have to let me take Tyler's bed," you say with a small laugh, trying to ease the new tension on the room.

Tyler looks back up at you, while Josh's eyes seem to look anywhere but you. "You're alright, don't worry about it, Y/N," he reassures you. "I'm fine sleeping on the couch." Then without letting you answer, Tyler stands up and begins to walk to the kitchen. "I'm gonna get more food," he says plainly.

Completely confused, you follow him. "Tyler," you say sternly, grabbing the end of his shirt sleeve. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing," he answers calmly. "It's all okay."

You narrow your eyes. "Really?" you ask skeptically. "Everything's fine, yet you're obviously annoyed at Josh for some reason. You're a terrible liar, not to mention I've known you for years."

"Everything is okay, Y/N," Tyler says again, his voice softening. "Don't worry about it."

So the kitchen is now the place to figure out whats wrong with them and call them out on lies..

Now uneasy, you walk with him back to the couch, where, once again, you settle in between him and Josh. Your hands play with the ends of Josh's hoodie as you sit together, only half watching whatever was on the TV.

Looks like I'm not the only one with something to hide.
