The hours in the car went by so quickly. We finally pulled up and the base seemed small, until we presented our military ID's to the kind man at the entrance. He saluted as we entered. It was a lot larger than we had thought it would be. I never knew I'd be seeing a military compound again after... well.. I can just talk about that later. Right now just isn't the time to be dwelling on my past.

We drive through the base and park our car near the commissary, where we began our search. It was interrupted when suddenly, I saw the same guy I did back at my neighbourhood.

"Urgh, what in the world is this idiot doing here?"
I uttered in annoyance.

"You do know he works here, right Ruby?"

"I know that, but why does he always appear in the same places I reside in all of a sudden?"

"Maybe he's here by coincidence?"

"I know, I know, but I just want to slap the living kahoots out of him."

"I wouldn't do that if I were you, judging from his rank, I doubt we want to mess with him"

"I don't care, I could beat him up if I wanted to!!"

Greg picked his head up and looked straight at me.

"Shit, I think he saw us, act casual."

"He wouldn't have if you just kept your mouth shut and your ego down to a minimum."

Greg's POV:

I turned to look at the girl I spotted just this morning. She seemed angry, like I was following her or something, and she was onto me like a blood-hound, as she turned to mind her business with her friend or whoever the hell that was; being me though, I decided to spite her and piss her off just a little bit by walking up to her and appear in her presence, since she seemed so full of herself, and I needed a good laugh from this encounter. This should be fun. As I approached she looked up at me with disgust.

"Hello ladies, how's the morning dew today?"

"Goodmorning Greg" , Izzy greeted kindly, as I stood there just huffing.

"Top of the morning, and you? Aren't you going to say something?"

Greg could see Ruby's face painted red with anger. It was almost as if she could commit a crime involving his death to make him vanish. Instead, to his surprise..she walked away, sitting down outside; she looked dissapointed as she recollected her thoughts sitting on that spot that seemed the most convenient.

"Should I check on her?" Izzy asked Greg with noticeable concern on her face.

"Here, I'll do it, you just hold down the fort here and get what you needed."

"I dont think she really likes you, but I wish you luck with that... and if you cant handle her, please just come and get me."

"No problem, I've dealt with angry females before, I'm sure this will be no different."

"Oh, if only you knew."

"What do you mean?"

"Nothing, just check on her. Be patient and gentle with her. She's had a rough day and could be on defensive mode right now for all you know."

"Ok.. no problem at all."

*Greg runs towards Ruby*

"Oh, that man has no idea what he's dealing with, lots of luck to him if he ever survives 5 seconds." *distorted laughter*

Greg made it to the spot that Ruby was sitting on, it's as if she had been thinking about something.

"Hey shorty, are you ok?"
