As I saw them take Izzy away, to find her a new and improved neighbourhood, I followed Greg and the commander into the recruiting room. They handed me a contract that I had to read through and understand the terms.

I signed the contract realizing I'm doing the right thing. Izzy has a life to lead and I cant have her go through the dangers that are headed our way. It would be unacceptable to involve her into this, after all, it was my idea for us to sneak into this base and find the signs that could lead to the answers I seek from my nightmare. Everything began to get overwhelming, as I got cut off by the commander and I lifted my head to face him.

"Ruby, I understand this must be tough for you, but you signed this contract, and you are officially property of the United states Marine corps and the government."

"I understand, sir."

"You leave tomorrow, and Greg goes with you as your recruiter, you arrive at the hotel at 8PM, you must go to bed at 10PM because you wake up at 4 AM to head for MEPS for your processing, good luck, dismissed!"

I was feeling the distance between me and my sister already. I never thought I'd go somewhere so far away from the one person that actually cares about me. Like I said tho, life has its ups and downs and there is nothing I can do but deal with it. I've been wounded for so long ever since my friends' death, he was a marine and got shot right in front of me when I was a kid. I'll never forget the trauma from that particular day, and the fact I'm on the verge of becoming what he once was haunts me a little. However, I want to make him proud of me, and fulfill my promise I've made to him before he took his last breath. He was my only truest friend at the time, and he served not only as a marine, but my fatherly figure and I couldnt be more proud for all his accomplishments in life. He believed in me when no one else did, and he saw potential in me that no one else was able to spot. The thought of him being dead, I still somehow refuse to believe the shocking news I call tragedy.

Tears began to roll down my face, but the fact I'm doing this is for the greater good. I refuse to let my only sister die, especially after my trauma I've experienced as a kid. I've lost too much. If anyone is greeting death, it's going to be me this time. I cant place her life on the line. I've lost people, people that cared about me and she's the only family I've got left now. If anything ever happens to her I'd never forgive myself, not only that but I'd also place the blame on myself until I perish from this world. The key is accomplishing my job, perform it well and never get close to anybody ever again. Losing my sister would be enough pain that consumes my soul, if I ever got attached to anyone else and they end up dying, I would be pronounced dead due to so much heartbreak. All the trauma coming down with me, constantly living life like a miserable person placing all the guilt on myself.

This life was never meant to be a walk in the park. But one thing's for sure, is that I was hired into tears because im carrying all my past events that involved tragedy and trauma with me on this Journey, not the best decision I came up with, but they do teach me life lessons that the feeling is only temporary but never truly unattaches from you.

So, I am aware that this chapter is shorter, and I do apologize, I've been occupied with life as of late, however I finally was able to work on a little something for you guys. Until next time
