Expecting the Unexpected

Chapter V

Harry had slept for four days straight. When he woke up, he had the feeling that he was lying on clouds. He was internally debating whether the voice he had heard on the Knight Bus had actually been that of an angel and he had died and went to heaven because the blankets at the Dursley house were surely not soft as these.

Then he heard a voice like wind chimes say," And Sleeping Beauty wakes up finally. "He opened his eyes and saw Evangelina Chakravarty, a fellow Gryffindor in his year.

She was looking very beat with bruised eyes and a handprint on her cheek. She had finger shaped bruises on her neck and looked emaciated and undernourished.

This was the exact opposite of how she had looked during the previous year. She had looked radiant and been the envy of every girl at the Yule Ball. She looked like an angel in her white swan like robes.

She had enchanted on real wings onto her back and flounced around the Great Hall on the arm of Lee Jordan. Even Fleur Delacour looked plain in comparison to her. Ron had gaped at her open mouthed the entire night and Hermione and Ginevra had made some not so kind comments about her dress. Harry admitted that her dress had shown her ample cleavage (things which he had started noticing just a few months before) but instead of making her look slutty , it made her look angelic.

But looking at her now, it seemed as if she had gone through Hell and back. With great difficulty, she got up from her armchair and came upto him. She kissed him on the forehead and asked him,"Are you alright, Bacche mere(my child)?Do you need anything?"

It was no secret that she was of Indian descent and moreover a Bengali. They are supposed to be gorgeous and she was. Not in the cute way but in the ravishing way. She had lustrous brown hair, chocolatey brown eyes, golden brown skin and a perfect hourglass figure. All the boys and even some girls at Hogwarts lusted over her but Harry had never felt that way.

For some unknown reason, Harry got a motherly sort of vibe whenever she spoke with him. Harry asked her," Where am I? What happened to you? Are you alright? Why was I sleeping? "

She laughed which sounded like tinkling bells. Then she said, " Hey Bhagwaan! Itne Sawaal!(My God! So many questions) Wait , I will answer all your questions one by one. You are in Chakravarty Manor. My parents Nayonika and Rajeev Chakravarty are currently in France. I was heading to my uncle's house by the Knight Bus when you climbed into the bus. I was the only passenger along with you. You fainted without telling Stan any drop off location so I convinced him to let me take you with me as you were really injured. I brought you to my house and cleaned and treated you. My mum's a Healer in St. Mungo's so I know a lot about healing. You have been here since four days all of which you have spent resting."

Harry replied," Alright, that explains a lot but what about you ? Why are you so hurt?"Evangelina shyly answered, " There is a spell in Healing known as Amore et Transfer. It enables the caster to transfer all the injuries of the victim onto themselves through the bond of love.I casted it on you and took up all your wounds. Befor you start getting any ideas, I don't love you in an amorous way but I feel a compulsion to protect you all the time."

Harry was astonished. Someone loved him so much as to bear all his pain for him. He held both her hands in his and thanked her wholeheartedly. " I don't know what I did to deserve you but Thank you Evangelina. Thank you for saving my life."

Evangelina joked," After all I've been through for you, I think you have earned the right to call me Eva. And Harry dear, never say that you don't deserve me, you deserve the world darling, you deserve the world."

Harry was brought to the edge of tears. When she spoke, he felt the same warmth he felt when he cast his Patronus . When she held him , it felt as if he was finally getting the motherly love he had been deprived of all his life.
