Destani POV:
(Two days later)

"Destani.... What are you doing here? I thought your dad took you out."

"He did, but I skipped school so I could come see you. Shai, we need to talk. I think you'r-"

He put his finger to my lip. I was lost by his touch, I looked in his eyes. His beautiful light brown eyes. He held me tight and kissed my forehead.

"Wait, let me go first. Destani... I think I love you. Since day one you've been real with me. I could tell you everything and you actually listened. When I was doing something wrong, you tried to correct me. I should've listened to you. I'm so sor-"

*Pop pop pop*

I dropped to my knees and covered my eyes. I waited to make sure there were no more shots. I heard someone scream.

"Oh my God!! Lele wake up! Someone call a doctor! She's been shot!!! "

I pulled my  hands from over my eyes and slowly stood up. Shai's body was sprawled over the lunch table, in a pool of his own blood. He was shot twice... One in the arm, the other... Right through his heart. Eyes... Beautiful, light brown eyes, still open. I dropped to my knees and weeped silently. My cries were interrupted by a shadow draping my presence.
