Sam was rushed to the emergency room, Gabriel wanted to follow him. But the doctors told him to stay back and give them some space. He crumpled into a heap of sobs and tears into a lobby nearby with Balthazar comforting him. Gabriel didn't stop his whimpering and sobs until 15 minutes later, when his eyes were dried out completely. Then Balthazar made him sit up.

"Gabe, what happened..?" he asked softly. Gabriel shook his head and wiped his eyes with the back of his hand.

"Th-the guys... they called us fags. We didn't do anything to provoke them either..! Why did we deserve that Balthazar? Why?!" Gabriel curled even further into a ball like before. Balthazar sighed as he heard the soft sobs start up again. Hormones was probably the culprit. "They... they made fun of us, for no reason at all, we were playing a little snooker for fun and they just..." Gabriel trailed off and stopped entirely. Balthazar quirked an eyebrow.

"Gabriel, do you like Sam? As in... more than friends?" Balthazar asked in a hushed whisper. Gabriel blushed a bit, luckily his face was buried into the chair cushion.

"Yea.. so what?" Gabriel mumbled, his face becoming even more red. Balthazar looked around, thinking about something to say to the distraught boy. Then he didn't. He figured the kid could use some silence for once.

"Hello, is um.. Gabriel here?" a nurse asked, Gabriel shot up quickly from his seat and walked over to her.

"That's me. What's wrong?" He asked quickly, the nurse blinked in response and shook her head.

"Sam wants to see you." she said slowly. Gabriel sighed loudly and almost sank to the floor in relief. Sam was alive, that's all that mattered to Gabriel right at this moment. The nurse told him where to go and Gabriel shot off to the room right away, leaving Balthazar behind and eating his dust.

"Sammy?" Gabriel said softly, looking at the now smaller Sam before him. He looked frail and worn out. He lifted his head slowly and smiled weakly at his partner.

"Gabriel... hey man... how ya doing?" he asked in a slurred tone, it made Gabriel's eyebrows lift sympatheticly. It was a sad sight to see. Gabriel smiled and walked over to him.

"Hey, Samsquatch. How you feelin'?" Gabriel pulled a stool up to the hospital bed and ran a hand through Sam's hair, then he stopped as he felt stitches on his fingertips. He pulled away quickly. "Shit, babe I'm sorry... I didn't know."

"It's okay Gabe.. it just tickled a bit. I'm doing good." Sam twisted his face a bit after Gabriel removed his hand from his brown locks. Gabriel frowned at the face he made.

"Yeah, well, I don't want to hurt you at all, you're basically toast if you tear the stitches open." Gabriel smoothed Sam's hair down gently, putting it back in place again.

"Aww man... I just want to get out.." Sam whined. Gabriel smiled and shook his head.

"Can't have that Samsquatch and you know that. I don't want to lose you. You mean too much to me." Gabriel stroked his hair gently, making Sam smiled and sigh contently at his gentle touches.

"I know..." Sam whispered.

"Well then don't ask about it." Gabriel said flatly back. The nurse who came up to Gabriel earlier came peeked her head in the room.

"Sir.. it's time to go, come visit tomorrow." she said in a gentle yet firm voice. Gabriel snorted and shook his head.

"I can't leave." he told her. The lady smiled a bit wider, probably trying to hide the frustration.

"Yes you can. He needs to rest, or else he will never get out of here." she explained in an overly gentle tone. Gabriel looked at Sam, who gave him the look that told him to go. Gabriel couldn't say no to that, even if Sam wasn't in this state.
