A/n this update was really slow jfc sorry!
---A week later, Gabriel trudged into the doors of Sam's room.
Sam was hooked up to machines, and he was at rest. He looked dead. Gabriel knew better than that. Sam wasn't dead, obviously because the doctors said he was in a coma.
It was equal to being dead.
Gabriel stopped entirely once he was in the room, nothing happened after that. No tears, no collapsing to the floor from shock and whatnot. It was like his entire body shut down and froze like that.
He finally made a move, walking over to Sam."Hey Sam... How's it going?" he said with a quaking voice. Sam don't answer this time.
Gabriel couldn't help the sob that escaped from his throat. "How's the week going for you?" He didn't want to see Sam like this- no one did. Dean walked in. Gabriel heard him and his head shot up immediately, his eyes were starting to get dewy."Gabe... hey.." he smiled at Gabriel. If Dean wasn't Sam's brother he would have told him to beat it. Gabriel was not in the mood for socializing with other human beings.
"Hi Dean... What're you here for?" His voice cracked a bit as he asked him. Dean's meadow green eyes shifted to the floor.
"I wanted to see Sammy, I heard what happened... I'm sorry Gabriel, I really am." He said slowly. Gabriel's heard that a thousand times over from his family.
"Yeah. I'm sorry too." he told Dean.
"Do you wanna go get something to eat? You're looking thin Gabriel." Dean quickly changed the subject. Gabriel thought about it for a moment, he probably should go because he was just there. He was sitting there and not doing anything in general.
"Yeah... sure." Gabriel got up from Sam's side, a hand reached out and ran along his cheek before he went to Dean.
---
"Dude. Eat some real food." Dean nagged before taking a bite into his hamburger. Gabriel rolled his eyes as he dug his spoon into the fudge sundae in his hand.
"Greasy burgers, that's real food? I would have never known." Gabriel snorted before eating a spoonful of his sundae.
"Sure is Gabe. It's got lettuce, beef, buns, all that good stuff." Dean tried to explain, but the younger man didn't give a damn. Gabriel just kept eating his sundae as they sat in the diner.
"Right, so um... How are you and my brother?" Gabe asked. Dean's eyes flickered up to meet Gabriel's whiskey brown eyes.
"We're good, nothing too bad at all, heck... Your brother is perfect for me. Can you thank your mother for me?" he smiled and shoved the burger into his mouth. Gabriel nodded and threw Dean a few napkins because of the mess he made, he sure was a messy eater.
"What's the next date plan for him after all of this blows over?" Gabriel asked after he finished eating his sundae. He pushed it to the side and looked at Dean again.
"I don't know. Maybe like.. the amusement park or something." Dean squinted his eyes a little and looked up.
"Take him to the library." Gabriel told him.
"Pardon?" Dean said.
"Library. It's quick and easy, and you can make out in the corners and stuff because it's such a big place." Gabriel smirked and left a tip on the table while Dean paid for the food. Dean's eyes widened.
"Oh, never thought of that, thanks Gabe." Dean chuckled and stood up along with Gabriel. They both walked out of the diner and entered the Impala. "Gabe are you going home?" He asked. Gabriel sighed and shook his head.
"Going back with Sam, that's where I belong." he tried to smile, but it ended up being in between a smile and a frown.
"You belong at home, Gabe." Dean pressed.
"No. I don't. Sammy is my home." Gabriel continued to look away from Dean.
"Fine, whatever you say man." but what Dean was really going to do was bring Gabriel home. Hopefully he didn't notice.
Dean started to drive, taking a different way so they passed the hospital and it was out of sight. It was a fairly long way, but as long as Gabriel didn't go back there. He was looking pretty worn out from visiting there every single day. Dean had heard from Cas that Gabriel would occasionally sleep in the chair beside Sam if he was allowed to.
Dean came to a stop at Gabriel's house. Gabriel looked at Dean as if he did the most disgusting thing in the world. "Why are we here? I thought we were going back to the hospital, Deano?!" Gabriel narrowed his eyes at him.
"Sorry buddy, you need to do something else for a while. Mourning over Vegetable Sammy isn't something you should do for a week straight." Dean frowned and got out of his car. He moved his way over to Gabriel's door, he opened it and dragged Gabe out. Gabriel struggled a little, but he suddenly felt too tired to move so he let Dean pull him out.
Dean lifted the smaller man over his shoulders and brought him inside. Cas answered the door and Dean left a quick peck on his boyfriend's cheek before he walked into the living room. He plopped Gabriel onto the couch and ruffled his hair a little. He returned to Cas, who was tilting his head and looking at Dean.
"What happened?" He asked him.
"Took the kid out of that dump and brought out for food." Dean gave Cas a hearty smile. Cas couldn't help but smile. He didn't want to do cute couple things in front of his brother, for he would become jealous due to the situation with Sam. He stuck with giving Dean a peck on the lips and giving him a look that said 'no more'. Dean listened with a wink and walked over to Gabriel.
"Hey man, me and Cas wanted to play videogames. Want to join us?" he asked Gabriel.
"Sure."
