Could you tell us a little more about yourself?
I go by Crimson, or Crim, or Crimmy. Whatever works really. I'm in my late 20s but will forever be 21, the legal age to drink everywhere in the world . I'm Canadian but more importantly I'm Native/Indigenous. IRL I work in the music industry but writing has always been a second passion of mine. The arts in general have always been in my wheelhouse and interests. Other than that, I don't think there's much to say. When did you start writing for the SOA fandom?
I found fanfic because I'm utter Harry Potter trash. From there, I started publishing my own fanfic in 2015 around the same time SOA finished. I've always written fanfic but didn't fully comprehend that's what I was doing. Then I discovered FanFiction.Net and figured it out. I was drawn to the SOA fandom first because it had just ended and I needed more LOLWho's your favorite character to write/read about?
From SOA - It's Happy, hands down. Runner up Chibs. Those my mans! I'm partial to accents and the Scottish one being one of my particular favourites. Chibs was just a given. Happy I love because there's so much room to create with him. He's an mystery in the show and I loved trying to figure him out/what his story was. What do you like most about writing?
I love being able to create entire new worlds and feel the emotion. I'm a very involved writer. What I mean by that is I will try my best to act out the emotions/actions I'm writing for each character. I want it to feel real when I'm reading it back. What is your biggest struggle during writing?
Staying focused on one project at a time. I have dozens of new ideas weekly and it's hard to stay motivated on just one. I try to keep my work short and sweet because I have a tendency to ramble, get lost or go entirely off script. Once that happens, there's no hope for me to finish the thing. What is your favorite work and why?
My most popular fic to date is Prisoner Exchange. A Happy Lowman x OC fic. It was my second ever full fic I published and people to this day still love it. I love it. I miss writing Elle and Happy all the time.
My favourite fic of mine right now is An Outdated Map. It's a Fred Weasley x Hermione Granger fic focused on PTSD after the war. What is your favorite SOA fanfic written by someone else?
For the life of me I can't remember the name and the author was something like LemonCurd. Anyways - it was a Happy x OC fic. The OC was terrified of Happy and it stayed that way for a long time. It was wonderfully written. It was where I got the original idea for Prisoner Exchange because in that fic the OC gets a letter from Happy when he's in prison. What are you looking for while reading a fanfic?
I've read A LOT of fanfic and I'm incredibly picky now. Unfortunately. I try to read everything I can get my hands on but I'm really looking for a story with characters and arcs and all that jazz. I don't particularly like self inserts/reader fics. LMAO I've never been able to exchange Y/N with my name. I always read it as Your/Name when I read the ficsWhat advice would you give a starting author?
It's pretty basic but JUST WRITE and write for yourself. Don't worry about anyone else. Especially if you're just starting out. There's a saying - if you can't find the story you want to read, write it. Do it for you and your passion will shine through and bring others to your work. What other fandoms can one find on your profile or do you plan to write about in the future?
Right now mostly SOA/Mayans MC. I have some HP currently and maybe some Fast and Furious in the future. My tumblr has much more available on there because I've only recently migrated to wattpad.
