Taking a seat on the secured cold metal stool, the county jail offered as seating for visitors I waited for DeAndre to walk up. The women and men who were visiting their loved ones were all so happy yet, I felt uneasy looking down at my hands. Fiddling with my fingers I sighed deeply watching as he dapped his friend up who pointed in my direction. Smiling ear to ear, Dre looked so damn fine. A couple of weeks ago he decided to let his beard fully grow in, I can't lie he was fine-looking skin still amazing. Placing his hand against the window shaking his head Dre licked his lips grinning down at me. I could never really get my poker face on the same page as my mood ofcourse.
"I know that look baby girl what's wrong?"Dre studied my body language and facial expressions so long he knew me better than I did sometimes.
"I'm not sure how to even explain it or where to start. All of this isn't going to change anything. If someone would have told me this is where I would be sitting knowing what I know I wouldn't believe them."
"Did a lawyer call you or are they bringing you in wassup talk to me Reign." Waiting to hear whatever it was on my mind Dre held the phone tighter.
"Nick gave me a ring the day he was drafted." Unable to watch him process what I said I found myself looking away, Dre looked down as he scoffed at the idea of another man proposing to me.
"So you back on this Nicky bullshit, you want out Reign be out. I ain't holding you back with shit but a promise right. What do you want from me? My permission to fuck a nigga you probably already fucked!" A tear began to run down his right cheek I knew the idea of me with someone else again would eat at him, rightfully I deserved every blow he was ready to throw at me. I've loved Deandre for as long as I could remember and seeing how hurt he was at the moment reassured me that my next move was my best move!
" I'm going to get you out of here, but when I do you have to promise me this shit is done and we won't look back at this life ever again. I don't care about this stupid ass ring, the money, or the fancy cars I care about us and our future. I'm going to do whatever it takes to have you out of these walls."
"Alright times up!" A muscular bald guard unfolded his arms while staring at us with
a smug smirk smeared across his face. Thrown back by what I said to him the only reaction Dre could give me was a simple nod as he stood up to wait for the guard to take him in back placing his hand against the glass meeting mine.
Texting the family was on the top of my list of things to handle.Pulling into the parking lot of the warehouse I rested my head against the steering wheel. The sound of a horn double beeping brought me out of my thoughts wiping away what little tears filled my eyelids I put on a fake smile. Reese slid into the passenger seat looking out the window we both stared at the warehouse before getting out of the car. The silence was inevitable as was the pain. Opening the doors of the warehouse instantly dropping to my knees I tried my best to hold back the tears. Looking down at my phone I didn't think anyone was here or saw my s.o.s to the entire team since only Reese showed up. I assumed the worse. Everyone including my father leaned against their parked cars, with blueprints laid out on the two tables.
" We ain't a family, unless we all together and that can't happen until bro home for real lil' sis. So whatever you got up yo sleeves we all ears and ready to ride out." Reese rubbed his hands together before cracking his knuckles, my father nodded in agreeance whatever we were going to do it had to be done as soon as possible.
"Alright! His court case is in the morning we have 16 hrs to make something happen and get shit going. We can do this two ways bribe and blackmail or we can get our hands dirty either way this won't be a clean getaway and I don't expect you all to throw away your freedom for us." Tucking my hair behind my ears, the diamond earrings brushed against my skin. Walking up into my father's office I closed the door behind myself before taking a seat. My father stared at me before breaking the silence by tapping on the desk to regain my attention.
