The next few concerts they had left couldn't be canceled. It broke the six boys' hearts to have to perform without Hoseok, but they had a responsibility. They could still perform, and their fans would want them to. They'd understand it if Hoseok wouldn't be there, but canceling the show was no option.
So for a few days, Hoseok was rather lonely.
He hadn't had much medication for the virus yet, as there were still a few tests that needed to be done before the doctors could make sure how to treat his failing liver. He only got painkillers for the pain in his stomach and side, the spot where his liver was.
The other members had had to take a few tests as well to make sure their livers weren't being attacked by a nasty little virus.
Hoseok had a private room. He enjoyed the fact that he had a lot of privacy, but he was a little sad that he couldn't make a hospital friend. In all the movies he'd seen, everyone always made hospital friends! Why couldn't he?
So at some point, he'd made a stupid decision.
"And...who are you?"
A boy who looked around eighteen years old sat in the hospital bed of the room Hoseok had snuck into. He was staring at Hoseok in confusion - which was only logical - and crossed his arms.
"This is a private room, you can't just walk in here like that."
Hoseok rubbed the back of his neck and chuckled goofily. "Hehe, I'm sorry. I was just- ehm...looking to make some hospital friends. You know, like they do in the movies?"
The boy still looked at Hoseok weirdly, so Hoseok moved forward, rolling the IV he was still attached to with him, and held his hand in front of the boy. "My name's Hoseok. You can call me Hobi, if you want."
The boy shook his hand, though a little unsure of the situation. It wasn't every day that a random guy would walk into his room, after all.
"I'm Jae." the boy replied.
"Nice to meet you, Jae!" Hoseok exclaimed with a happy grin.
Jae chuckled a little and tilted his head. "Y-Yeah, I guess? By the way, you look familiar. Have you been on tv before?"
Hoseok chuckled nervously. "Ehhm...yeah...I'm eh- I'm also known as J-Hope from BTS."
Jae's eyes widened a little and he looked Hoseok up and down, wondering if it was actually true.
"Woah, you're kidding me! Aren't you like, the best dancer ever?" He breathed out in awe. "What are you doing here in the hospital? You don't look like you've broken anything."
Hoseok shook his head. "I didn't. Got something else, but it's all fine. I'm strong, so I'll definitely get over this!"
Jae chuckled. "I bet you will. Now, what did you say about making friends like in the movies?"
Hoseok grinned and sat down on Jae's bed without even asking. "Well, I'm very glad you asked, Jae. You know how in movies where people are sick, they always end up making the best friend of their lives in the hospital?"
Hoseok started ranting about different movies he'd seen and all the cool things the friends did together. When he finally stopped his rant, Jae looked at him with a face that showed he was trying to stay focused, but it was almost impossible.
"C'mon, have you even been paying attention to what I've said?" Hoseok whined. "This is something we could learn from!"
"Yeah, I mean...sure, but, ehm...I think your band members are standing behind you." Jae said, telling him the reason why he had been unfocused.
