I couldn't concentrate on anything related to books. I ignore the piles and close my eyes as I try to clear my mind. I sat upright on my bed and stared off space.

I couldn't stop thinking about what Zack said yesterday evening. I couldn't believe it. My sister's trying to ruin my friendship with him. Like she always do. She makes sure to come in between any new friend and I. I'm pleases she didn't come after Kaila and tried to destroy our friendship.

The past couple of days were the best days of my life. I made new friends and I couldn't be more happier when Kaila becomes my best friend. They honor our friendship and respect me like a captain in the group. Likewise, if they don't understand a topic or were having trouble doing their homeworks, I tutor them. This Halloween was the best.

But then, I noticed Daisy hanging out with Zack too much. The first time was when they happily got inside Zack's car and left together after school. Zack seemed content to be with her but I became worried. I'm scared she's trying to manipulate him into doing something he has no intention of doing. I need to talk to her, to warn her off. I can't let her break his Zack. He has already fallen for her trap but I can't let anything worse happen to him.

I set the book on my laps down and got out of bed. I tiptoed out of the room to my sister's bedroom. I halted at the door and listened attentively. There were muffled sounds coming but I couldn't make out what it was. I slowly, gingerly pushed open the door in a way I could peep. A wave of relief rushed inside me when I saw Daisy's back facing me.

She was standing before her bed and folding a shirt neatly. There were different heaps of clothes neatly folded and there was a pile of crumpled clothes on the other side of the bed. Daisy was dressed in an oversized sweatshirt and her hair was tousled around her shoulders. It seems like she just bathed and just threw on the shirt. Her bedroom looks remarkably clean and spotless. This seems strange because my sister's bedroom is always messy just like she is. Kaila's right, my sister had changed a lot.

"I know a lot about you more than you think I do."

The voice came from the phone set on the nightstand. Without much of a thinking, I concluded the voice belonged to Zack. It was deep, manly yet clam. It flowed with a friendly hostility in a way I never heard him speak to me or his friends. This started when I became friends with him. He protected me when Daisy tried to hurt me. He became friends with me when I had no one. I think it's time I return the favour.

"Yeah?" Daisy teased.

He chuckled lightly. "Hell yeah."

"Okay" She shrugged. "What's my favourite color?"

"Black. Obviously." He replied without any hesitation.

"That was very simple. How about..." She paused and dropped down heavily on the bed but facing another direction. "Who was my first boyfriend?"

"Shit." He muttered.

She giggled. "You just swore! You better insert a dollar in the jar!"

"I forgot to buy the jar at the store but I promise to when I get back home."

"Mine is right here. Where are you?" She purses her lips as she awaits the response.

"I have a late evening shift at the restaurant I work at. But don't worry, the customers were all served." He replied with a chuckle.

Daisy lay back on the bed and stared at the ceiling. "Perhaps I should come to the restaurant to see you in that sexy work outfit."

I heard a deep chuckle on the other line. "You find delivery boys attractive?" His voice had a low rumble.

She smiled seductively. "I find only one delivery boy sexy. His uniform fits his..."

She stopped when I burst open the door. I couldn't bear to listen to any of if anymore and it settled an uneasy feeling in my heart. I had always been the nice, patient sister in the family. I tolerated everything Daisy did to me and never complained. Her actions pained me but then I couldn't do anything to stop her.

"I'll call you back later." She whispered and hung up. She bolted upright, her eyes never leaving mine. "What the heck?"

I took a deep breath and walked further inside the room. "We have to talk."

"I don't want to talk. Don't forget to shut the door on your way out." She said dismissively.

I stepped forward. "I'm not going anywhere without us having a little chat. You always had your way, Daisy and I think it's time I have mine too. It's only fair if justice is served."

"Justice doesn't exist in my dictionary. And definitely not in the modern world." She says before she continues folding her clothes. I can't let her win this too.

"I would leave until we finish discussing our issues" She said nothing and acted dumb so I continued. "It's about Zack."

That got her attention. She turned to me and lightly snickered. "What about him?"

"You can hurt me but please don't hurt Zack. He doesn't deserve any of this, Daisy." I begged.

Her lips formed a hard, thin line and her eyebrows creased. "What are you trying to say? That I'm trying to avenge what he did to me previously?"

"Yes. Zack protected me from you and humiliated you in public. He was just trying to be a good friend, Daisy. Please leave him alone. Just keep this thing between us and don't involve him."

She stood up from the bed and walked towards me. "You stay away from him and I. It's none of your business whether I'm friends with Zack or not. He's comfortable with me and not a bitch like you."

I shook my head. "No. You're just trying to destroy him. You have already gained his trust, my dear sister. You always allow your victims to trust you before you break their hearts."

She propped her hands on her hips. "Zack is different. You're jealous of what we have. He trusted me better than he trusted you."

I sighed when I felt the ache intensified. "I'm not jealous. He was my friend before he became yours. You were never interested in him. You only came forward when you realised we became friends. Why are you trying to destroy our friendship?"

"Jenna, why do you think men and women cheat in a relationship? Sometimes, it was never their faults. Do you know the definition of abandonment? You don't because you've never experienced it. When you refuse to pay attention to your partner, don't assume they're just going try to gain your attention. You know what they do? They find someone better. Zack has other special friends. I'm part of them now and there's nothing you can do about it."

I couldn't control the tears any longer. It crushed my heart and pain lingered in my chest. I let out a hysterical cry even when I realised it was for nothing. My sister will always be the same. Nothing can change her cruel intentions towards me.

As I rush out of the room, one thing was clear in my mind; nothing's going to change my decision to protect Zack.

Both Jenna and Daisy are trying to be as close to Zack as possible. Let's see which one of the sisters will win! Which team are you?!
