Chapter 29

Natalie's POV

I was sitting on the balcony, reading all the hate messages that I was getting lately when there was a knock on my door.

I opened it to see Bella.

"Hey Bella what's up?" I asked not making eye contact.

"Hailey texted me and said that Carter stopped at some gas station. Nash texted Matt so we are getting closer." She said turning and walking away.

I closed the door and flopped onto the bed. My phone went off. Oh look more hate.

@alli__espinosa - Natalie doesn't deserve to be friends with the guys.

@marni.loves.cam - Cameron is to good for you @natalie.wilson. You deserve to be with someone from your class. Poor.

@saryna.dallas - Natalie is just a skanky hoe who has no friends. I hate her!

I turned off my phone and threw it across the room. I buried my face in my pillow and cried.

I don't know what I did to deserve this. I sat up and went to the bathroom. I heard about this game in health class, a form of self harm.

I put both hands around my neck and squeezed. I held it for 4 minutes and released. It felt amazing and I did it three times more.

Nothing happened to me. I'm still alive. Mr. Tyrrell is just a liar.

Aaron's POV

"Aaron, go to Handy Mandy's." Matt said to me.

"Matt, how the fuck am I supposed to know we're that is?" I said. Matt shrugged his shoulders.

I pulled over and asked a local man.

"Go straight about three miles, take s left, and follow that road. It's should be on you right." He said. I thanked him and continued driving.

"There it is!" I heard Caila yell. I looked to the right and saw a ratty looking gas station. A saw a mountain to the east.

"So what's the plan?" Matt asked. I looked for the black Mercedes. Know where to be found.

"I say we go in and straight up ask the guy if he saw Carter come in." Cameron suggested. We all agreed and got out of the car.

When we got inside I pulled up a picture of Carter on my phone.

"Excuse me."Matt said. The Indian man looked up.

"Yes? How can I help you?" He answered.

"We were wondering if this boy came in here at around quarter of one." I asked showing him the picture of Carter.

The man studied it for awhile and then answered.

"Yes. That boy came in here and bought 2 of ahh mikes." He answered.

"Thank you." Matt said turning to walk out. We walked out to the car and sat there for five minutes.

"Okay so he probably went that way." I said ponying in the direction we hadn't come.

We pulled out of the parking lot and started driving. My phone went off.

"Matt would you read that for me?" I asked. Matt took my phone and read the text out loud.

Carter - your getting smarter Carpenter. Your very close to finding your baby.

I sped up. I would search the whole country side for Hailey.

Hailey's POV

I walked down the ladder into a cold and dark space underground. I looked up at Carter and watched him walk down. Once he came down, I wrapped my arms around his waist.

"Mm... You have missed me haven't you babe?" He asked. I kissed his lips.

"Yes I have." I said as he took me to a lightened room.

"Well unfortunately i don't care." He said. He pushed me into the bed and strapped me down by my waist and feet.

"Pey?" Carter said. A familiar girl came around the corner. Peyton.

"I've missed you." She said in a sarcastic tone. She came up to me and smacked me across the face.

"I've been waiting to do that." She said walking up next to Carter. Carter kissed her lips.

"Why?" I asked him. He walked over to me and leaned down so his face was two inches from mine.

"Because, if you must know. I loved you Hailey. I still do. I'm taking back what's mine." He said pressing his mouth onto mine. I spit into his mouth.

Carter pulled away and punched me in
Gmy nose.

"Bad girl!" He screamed. "Come on Peyton." He said taking her hand and walking out the door to the bedroom. He locked it.

I looked around the room. The bed I was on was creaky and old. Metal bed frame and dirty sheets.

There was an oak side table next to the bed and a closet in front of the bed. The room was really plain. I was sitting on the bed, when my phone vibrated.

I quickly pulled it out of my pocket and read the message.

I heard a key go into the door and turn. I threw my phone under me and laid there.

"Hope your ready for this." Carter said taking his pants off. Great. Once again, Carter is going to rape me.
