Chapter 19: Midnight Attack

Taehyung jolts awake, causing Jungkook to awaken too.
"What's wrong, baby?" Jungkook asks tiredly, rubbing his eyes gently. Taehyung looks around the room, fear evident in his gaze.

"I-I don't know. I-I th-thought I heard something..." Taehyung trails off as Jungkook pulls him into his warm embrace.

"It was probably some wildlife, we're in the middle of nowhere. Go back to sleep, honey." Jungkook reassures.

"But, it didn't sound like wildlife-" Taehyung starts.
"Shh... Don't worry, I'm here, okay?" Jungkook whispers, wanting to go back to sleep.

Taehyung nods slowly, getting comfy in the bed he had to share with the younger. He feels Jungkook nuzzling into his neck.
"Goodnight, sweetie."

Taehyung closes his eyes, heart still racing from before. As he relaxes into Jungkook's warmth, he starts drifting off.
"Goodnight..." Taehyung mumbles back.

Just as the two are about to fall into slumber, a quiet, almost silent, creak can be heard throughout the smallish room. The sound was made by the door opening and letting in four men.

Taehyung lets his eyes flutter open and squint through the darkness. He sees the four men and silently panics. Rolling over and acting like he's still asleep, Taehyung whispers to Jungkook.

"Jungkook, stay quiet and open your eyes." Taehyung mutters under his breath, leaning in close to the other so he can hear.

Jungkook opens his eyes, looking behind Taehyung and seeing the men too. As Jungkook closes his eyes to not draw any suspicion, he smirks. Taking out these four suckers will be easy.

Quicker than lightening, Jungkook jumps out of the bed and makes his first attack, knocking out one of the shocked men. As Jungkook goes to make his next move, a gun is pointed to his head.

It's not like this hasn't happened before, but this time around, he has to make a decision - and the element of surprise won't work the second time.

1: save Taehyung from the two men kidnapping him and risk dying in a heartbeat and letting Taehyung get taken.

Or

2: knock out the man holding a gun to his head and hope to God he'll catch up to Taehyung before he's taken away.

The second option has more chance of the both of them surviving.

Jungkook grabs the gun from the man's hand while simultaneously kicking him in the dick. As the man leans forward in pain, Jungkook elbows him in the nose before knocking him out cold.

Gun in hand, Jungkook runs down the hallway to find Taehyung and his captors. When he gets to the end of the hallway, he's relieved to see Taehyung hugging Hoseok, the two unknown men now laying dead on the floor.

Namjoon, Jin, Yoongi and Jimin are standing with the others, too, looking confused.
"Jungkook, what happened?" Jin asks sternly, eyeing the younger boy.

"They snuck into our room and tried taking Tae." Jungkook explains, rushing up to Taehyung. He pulls the older into a genuine hug, wanting the latter to know he's safe now.

"We won't leave here. We'll need to install a security system, add some alarms to all the doors and windows and we really need to start training." Namjoon says in an authoritative tone.

Jin smiles, leaning in to whisper something in Namjoon's ear.
"Not now, babe." Namjoon answers, a smirk forming on his face.

He turns back to the others, looking directly at Jungkook, who has broken the hug with Taehyung, but is still holding him close.
"I hate to say this, but you're the one that needs to keep Taehyung safe. You're always around him and have this..." Namjoon trails off.

Jungkook looks at him with a questioning expression, raising an eyebrow.
" I have this what?" He asks.
"You have formed a sort of liking to Taehyung." Namjoon says.

Yoongi rolls his eyes, speaking up.
"Jungkook, he's trying to say you have a major obsession with Tae. A huge, unhealthy, weird obsession." Yoongi states truthfully.

Jungkook gives them a sheepish smile.
"Maybe a little obsession..." He turns to Taehyung.
"Creep." Taehyung mumbles, averting his gaze so he doesn't end up staring at the other.

"I'm your creep, tiger." Jungkook pecks Taehyung's cheek, causing the latter to blush.

"Alright, enough lovey-dovey business. We don't know when the Black Assassins will come back and we need to be prepared - starting with a good night's sleep." Jimin says, interrupting the little moment Taekook were having.

Jungkook walks a still scared Taehyung back to their room, the others going to their's as well. The two climb into bed, cuddling up to each other.

"J-Jungkookie?" Taehyung asks, already half-asleep.
"Yes, my little tiger?"
"Th-thank you for s-saving me." The older says, smiling softly.

"No problem, baby. I told you I'm here for you, and I will protect you and keep you safe until forever ends." Jungkook replies, only realising after he finished talking that Taehyung was fast asleep.

Jungkook sighs, looking at how adorable the other is. He gently kisses Taehyung's forehead, falling asleep too, completely forgetting about the knocked out men in the room.

One of which still has a gun...
